Hill’s Pet Nutrition exec will lead Kansas<br />

City Area Life Science Institute<br />

A veterinarian and executive for Hill’s Pet Nutrition Inc.<br />

has been named as the new CEO of the Kansas City<br />

Area Life Science Institute.Dr. Wayne Carter will take<br />

over leadership of the institute on June 18, the<br />

organization’s board of directors announced<br />

Wednesday. He replaces CEO Dan Getman, who is<br />

retiring after running the institute since 2009.Carter<br />

currently is vice president of global research at Hill’s<br />

Pet Nutrition in Topeka, helping commercialize new<br />

product discoveries. Previously, he spent 11 years at<br />

Pfizer Inc.<br />
