Laurie Pila and Gregory Sheindlin<br />

Laurie Gail Pila, a daughter of Lily Pila and Nathan Pila<br />

of Toronto, was married Saturday evening to Gregory<br />

Evrett Sheindlin, a son of Suzanne Sheindlin of<br />

Hallandale Beach, Fla., and Gerald Sheindlin of<br />

Naples, Fla. The bridegroom’s father, a retired acting<br />

justice of State Supreme Court in New York, officiated<br />

at his New York home. The bridegroom’s stepmother,<br />

Judith Sheindlin, a retired supervising family court<br />

judge in New York, who is better known as the star of<br />

“Judge Judy,” took part.Mrs. Sheindlin, 35, works in<br />

New York as a freelance video producer for Web sites,<br />

television productions and movies that feature food<br />

and restaurants. She currently produces video content<br />

for RachaelRay.com, and was the producer of “Amore<br />

Pulpo,” a short film shown last year at the New York<br />

and Chicago Food Film Festivals. Her parents own a<br />

real estate and investment company in Toronto that<br />

bears their surname. Mr. Sheindlin, 47, is a founding<br />

partner in the New York law firm Sheindlin & Sullivan.<br />

He graduated from the State University at Albany and<br />

Brooklyn Law School. His mother is an independent<br />

financial planner in Hallandale Beach. From 1999 to<br />

2001, his father appeared as the judge on the<br />

syndicated television series “The People’s Court.” The<br />

bride’s first marriage ended in divorce.<br />
