“Archivos de la Sociedad Argentina de
Oftalmología” is the official journal of the
Argentinian Ophthalmologic Society. It gives
priority to the publication of basic and clinical
research reports as revisions, original articles, short
communications and editorial comments related
to Ophthalmology and its different specialties.
In addition, it also publishes letters to the editor,
book reviews, information on events, personal
and trade announcements as well as work on
historical issues and iconographic topics related
to Ophthalmology.
The texts must be in Spanish or English.
The texts submitted for publication must include
a letter of the author or, if coauthored, by the first
author, to the Editor of “Archivos de la Sociedad
Argentina de Oftalmología”, Viamonte. Capital
Federal. Buenos Aires. Argentina.
Any contribution or article sent to «Archivos»
must indicate the section it is to be published in.
Sections
Editorial comments, reviews and notes
The editorial comments, reviews and notes will
be by request of the Society or the editor of
«Archivos» under particular details in each case.
Letters to the Editor
Contributions to this Section may include
comments on articles published in the Journal
or comments on other topics of interest in
Ophthalmology. This correspondence will be
subject to review by the editor and shall be
published provided there is enough space and
it meets the priorities and interests at the time.
Letters must not exceed 00 words and shall
include an introductory title. A maximum of two
illustrations and three bibliographical quotes will
be accepted.
Letters concerning published articles may be
replied. They shall be sent to the author of the
Archivos de Oftalmología 2008; 79
original article, who may answer with a text of
similar size within the term of one month. The
letter to the Editor shall be published together
with said reply. No proof will be sent other than
for correction of slight mistakes.
Reviews
The purpose of the Reviews is to update
specific ophthalmologic topics, clarify new
concepts or review classic ones in the light
of new developments in diagnostic and
treatment. These reviews should correlate basic
scientific knowledge with clinical experience
in a didactic and critical manner, with a slant
towards the clinical environment. If the original
is not in Spanish, the author/s must authorise
simultaneous publication in English and Spanish.
The length must not exceed 20-3 pages with up
to 20 images.
The general rules, identification sheet, abstract,
key words and bibliography must match the
original journal articles.
Original articles
Experimental and clinical articles can be included
here, provided they include research work.
Research articles must be previously unpublished
and should not be in the hands of other journals
pending publication. The preparation thereof
must follow the following rules:
o Original and two copies must be
submitted . The original must be sent in
computer media, specifying the word processor
programme and computer model. In order to
speed up the evaluation of your work, please
send digitalised images together with the
computer file containing the article. However,
the copies must be sent by mail, on white paper
with black type, print style letters. Said copies
must not include the name of the author/s.
o The hard copies must be in ISO A4 size
(210 x 297 mm) written one side only and in
double spacing, with a maximum of 28 lines per
page and 67 spaces per line and approximately
equal margins on both sides. Maximum of 10
pages of text and bibliography.
