Pilot lights (vending machine door)
The two pilot lights (LEDs) controlled via the additional PCB (connector 7,
Fig. 1c) in the vending machine door are supposed to make it easier for the
customer to operate the vending machine in normal operation. However,
these LEDs also tell the service technician that there is a malfunction and
what kind of malfunction it is. Accordingly, the green LED is used during a
correct selling sequence and the red LED in the event of a malfunction or an
error during the selling sequence (cp. also section "Status and error
messages of the pilot lights in the machine door" in Chap. 8 "Maintenance
and service"):
green LED flashes,
as soon as the inserted credit is sufficient for a purchase:
• in case of setting "exact price“,
as soon as a set price is reached and the respective chute is not
empty
• in case of setting "overpay“,
as soon as the lowest set price is reached
red LED flashes, when coins are inserted although the acceptance of coins
is inhibited, because:
• credit has already reached the highest set price
• all chutes are empty or defective
• malfunction in the escrow
red LED flashes, when a selection button is pressed, because:
• in case of setting "exact price", credit is not equal to price
• in case of setting "overpay", credit is less than the price of the
selected product
• chute of the selected product is empty or defective
green and red LED flash alternately whenever the coin validator is not in the
normal operating mode but in the service mode instead, so that no coins can
be accepted in order to generate a credit (e.g. in the test mode or during the
price-setting operation).
