PROFIBUS 6.1.4 Station Address Repeaters also count as physical stations so that the number of "real" stations on the line is reduced to 31 (or to 30 if 2 repeaters are used. Up to 3 repeaters are supported, boosting the total number of bus stations to 122. Every logical PROFIBUS station is assigned its own station address that other stations use to access this station. Station addresses can be anything between 0 and 126. The PROFIBUS station address of Ventura Remote PLC DP is set by the software in the DP master project. 6.1.5 Network Configuration To define a Kuhnke controller as the master, run the VEBES configuration tool to build the PROFIBUS network. To define a Kuhnke CoDeSys controller as the master, run the CoDeSys configuration tool to build the PROFIBUS network. 6.2 Master-Slave Communication PROFIBUS Read this section to obtain basic information about how to integrate Ventura Remote PLC in a network system. 6.2.1 Device Master File KUHN690B.GSD File "KUHN690B.GSD" contains the master data of DP slave unit Ventura Remote PLC. You need the file whenever you wish to add the device to a DP network using a PROFIBUS configuration utility. Graphics-ready configuration tools can also show a picture of the DP slaves. The graphics file showing Ventura Remote PLC is "KU_6902n.DIB". (In case your configuration utility accepts ".BMP" files only, pass the ".DIB" file through a graphics application that is able to convert the file).
