11.1 PROFIBUS-DP-Interface<br />
11.1.1 Product description<br />
The PROFIBUS-DP interface provides an additional field bus connection. All functions and<br />
parameters can be addressed directly, e.g. from a Simatic S7 control system. The interface can be<br />
plugged into the technology slots TECH1 or TECH2 or the <strong>ARS</strong> 2300 servo positioning controller.<br />
As a special feature, S7 function blocks have been developed for the drives controllers. Using these<br />
function blocks, the drive controllers can be controlled directly by the PLC program and the users can<br />
integrate their systems easily and clearly into the Simatic S7 environment.<br />
