Coppage, Arnold Tabbed Preseason All-Americans<br />

Senior runningback Levell Coppage (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park) and senior linebacker Greg Arnold (Big<br />

Bend/Mukwonago) have been named <strong>to</strong> the 2011 D3football.com Preseason All-America Team.<br />

Coppage is a first team pick and Arnold was named <strong>to</strong> the second team.<br />

Coppage has earned first team All-America honors each of his first three years. He rushed for 1,461<br />

yards as a freshman, followed by 2,107 yards in both 2009 and 2010. He averaged over six yards per<br />

carry the last two years and has <strong>to</strong>taled 81 rushing <strong>to</strong>uchdowns in his career, the school and <strong>Wisconsin</strong><br />

Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record. A First Team All-WIAC pick three times, Coppage was named<br />

the league’s MVP in 2009 and 2010.<br />

Arnold was second on the team in 2010 in tackles (78), solo tackles (39), tackles for a loss (10.5), and<br />

quarterback sacks (7). He was also credited with two interceptions, seven passes broken up, three<br />

fumbles recovered, and four fumbles caused. Arnold helped the Warhawk defense rank second in<br />

Division III against the run, fifth in scoring defense, and thirteenth in yards allowed.<br />

Coppage was named <strong>to</strong> The Sporting News Division III Preseason All-America Team and Lindy’s<br />

Sports Division III All-America Team in June. He was joined on the Lindy’s team by offensive lineman<br />

Logan Allemand (Kenosha/Tremper), and Arnold was also tabbed by the Sporting News.<br />

Coppage and Arnold have both contributed <strong>to</strong> three WIAC championships, three straight NCAA III<br />

championship playoff berths, a spot in the Division III championship game three times, and national titles<br />

in 2009 and 2010 following back-<strong>to</strong>-back 15-0 seasons.<br />

UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong> was picked as the number one team by both The Sporting News and Lindy’s in their<br />

2011 preseason publications.<br />

The <strong>Warhawks</strong> will open the 2011 season September 3 at 6:00 at UW-La Crosse, looking <strong>to</strong> extend the<br />

longest winning streak in NCAA football (any Division) of thirty games. UW-W will open at home<br />

September 17 at <strong>12</strong>:00 in Perkins Stadium against Campbellsville University (KY).<br />

Top Ranked <strong>Warhawks</strong> Picked <strong>to</strong> Win WIAC<br />

The Warhawk football team, ranked a<strong>to</strong>p the national rankings in the D3football.com, Sporting News and<br />

Lindy’s Sports polls, has been picked <strong>to</strong> win the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football title<br />

this season. UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong> swept up all first place votes made by the conference sports information<br />

direc<strong>to</strong>rs this season.<br />

The two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III defending national champions currently<br />

hold the NCAA’s longest win streak in any division at 30 games, a 21 game home win streak and 17<br />

consecutive conference vic<strong>to</strong>ries. The <strong>Warhawks</strong> have advanced <strong>to</strong> the Division III national<br />

championship--the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl--six consecutive years capturing titles in three of the last<br />

four seasons. Following suit, UW-W has six consecutive WIAC titles.<br />
