Olson helped the Warhawks win NCAA III championships in 2007, 2009 and 2010, and Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles all four of the years he was with the team. He was a
D3football.com Honorable Mention All-America pick in 2010, when he was also D3football.com West
Region Second Team and First Team All-WIAC. Olson was a second team all-conference pick in 2009.
Olson is the only player from a Wisconsin college selected for the team.
The IFAF tournament, which is held every four years and began in 1999, brings eight teams together.
The U.S. participated for the first time in 2007, winning the title, with Japan winning in 1999 and 2003.
The 2011 tourney will be played in the cities of Graz, Innsbruck and Vienna. The U.S. team will play
Australia July 8, Germany July 10, and Mexico July 12. The other pool includes Austria, Canada, France
and Japan. Depending on results of pool play, the bronze medal game will be played July 15 and the
gold medal game July 16. The Canadian team includes thirteen players currently playing in the CFL, and
twenty-one players on other teams in the field have either made a NFL practice squad or a NFL Europe
roster.
In 15 games during the 2010 season Olson recorded 110 tackles, tenth in the UW-W record book, 62 of
them solo, which is the fourth highest total in the records. He had ten tackles for a loss, 5.5 quarterback
sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He is also sixth in the school records in career
tackles (285).
Rusch Earns Membership in Hampshire Honor Society

Whitewater’s Aaron Rusch (Hartford/Hartford) has earned membership in the National Football
Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society. To earn the honor a student athlete must be a starter or
significant reserve on his team, have a minimum of a 3.2 (4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average, and
must be in the final year of eligibility and meet NCAA graduation progression requirements. The NFF
Hampshire Honor Society honors football players from every Division (I, II and III).
Rusch, a four-year regular for the Warhawks, was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy and a semifinalist for
the William V. Campbell Trophy in 2010. He was also named UW-Whitewater Male Senior Athlete of the
Year, and was a College Sports Information Directors Second Team Academic All-American. He helped
the team to four straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and national championships
in 2007, 2009 and 2010. As a wide receiver and punt returner Rusch made numerous record book
entries, including top ten marks in ten categories in the UW-Whitewater record book and four times in the
top five in the WIAC record book.
Rusch, a three-time all-WIAC pick, garnered as many academic accomplishments as athletic. He was
named the WIAC Max Sparger Scholar Athlete for football in 2010. A physical education major, Rusch
posted a 3.82 cumulative grade point average, was a member of the Golden Key National Honor
Society, a Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization nominee, and a Dean’s
List honoree every semester. He has also earned a spot on the UW-W Scholar Athlete Award list and
was named a Chancellor’s Scholar Athlete in April 2011.
