Gehring, his wife Jennifer, and their daughter Jersey live in <strong>Whitewater</strong>.<br />

Assistant Coach Thomas Karthauser<br />

Tom Karthausser enters his fourth season on the UW-W coaching staff. An<br />

alumnus of UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong>, Karthausser earned four varsity letters playing<br />

defensive back for the <strong>Warhawks</strong> during his 2000-2003 seasons under<br />

head coach Bob Berezowitz. During his senior season at <strong>Whitewater</strong>, Tom<br />

was elected as the team’s defensive captain by his teammates.<br />

Upon graduating from <strong>Whitewater</strong>, Karthausser began coaching high school<br />

football within the North Shore Conference. During the 2004 and 2005<br />

seasons, he coached the varsity defensive backs at Whitefish Bay High School in 2006 and<br />

2007; he served as Nicolet High School’s defensive coordina<strong>to</strong>r at the varsity level. Karthausser<br />

also grabbed some head coaching experience during this time, serving as the interim head<br />

coach for Milwaukee’s expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League for nine weeks<br />

during the 2008 season, leading the team <strong>to</strong> their first vic<strong>to</strong>ry in franchise his<strong>to</strong>ry<br />

Karthausser is an academic advisor <strong>to</strong> the UW-W’s Academic Advising and Exploration, and<br />

lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.<br />

Karthausser and his wife, Andrea live in East Troy, WI.<br />

Assistant Coach Jace Rindahl<br />

Jace Rindahl enters his third season on the Warhawk coaching staff after<br />

completing a highly successful collegiate playing career at UW-W. In<br />

Rindahl’s four years as a linebacker, the <strong>Warhawks</strong> won four conference<br />

championships and reached four national championship games. The<br />

<strong>Warhawks</strong> won the national title in 2007 while Rindahl contributed <strong>to</strong> a<br />

defense that ranked first in the WIAC in scoring defense, rushing defense,<br />

<strong>to</strong>tal defense, sacks, interceptions, and pass defense efficiency. In 2008<br />

Rindahl was named Defensive Player of the Year by D3football.com and<br />

also received All-American honors from the American Football Coaches Association. For his<br />

career Rindahl is mentioned in several career categories in the UW-W record book including:<br />

eighth in interceptions (11), fourth in return yards after interception (218), and ninth in tackles<br />

(248).<br />

Assistant Coach Mitch Moore<br />

Mitchell Moore rejoins the Warhawk football staff after spending three years<br />

in the high school ranks. An alumnus of UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong>, Moore earned<br />

three varsity letters and the 2007 Forest Perkins Award. A wide receiver<br />

from 2004-07, he was part of three national finalist teams and helped the<br />

team <strong>to</strong> <strong>Whitewater</strong>’s first national title in 2007.<br />
