<strong>Whitewater</strong> led 52-0 with 2:28 left in the third quarter. Borland's fumble return for a TD is <strong>Whitewater</strong>'s<br />
first since November 17, 2007 when Ryan Ogrizovich ran in from 15 yards out in a game against Capital<br />
University in Perkins Stadium.<br />
<strong>Whitewater</strong>'s last drive was "the Byron Stanford (Chicago, IL/Mount Carmel) drive". <strong>Whitewater</strong>'s backup<br />

attempts. The teams had just one punt (Albion) between them. Stanford led all rushers with 114 yards<br />
on nine carries. Blanchard was <strong>12</strong>-18 for 168 yards, the one TD and no interceptions. Luke Menzel<br />
(Sheboygan Falls/Oostburg) caught five passes for 70 yards. Krauss was 16-30 for 133 yards with two<br />
interceptions. J.C. Cruse caught 5 passes for 30 yards, and Tyler White had 57 yards on four<br />
receptions. Albion junior free safety Nate Ross led both teams with 11 tackles.<br />
UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong>, 11-0, will play Franklin College (IN), a 24-21 winner over Thomas More in another first<br />
round game, next Saturday in a NCAA playoff second round (sweet sixteen) game. The location of that<br />
game will be announced late Sunday.<br />

IL/Lake Zurich) <strong>to</strong> receive the 2011 Gagliardi Trophy, given <strong>to</strong> the most outstanding football player<br />
in NCAA Division III by Jostens and the J-Club of St. John's University of Minnesota. The<br />
collective vote by fans casting a ballot on D3football.com will be added <strong>to</strong> the votes submitted by<br />
the 38-member Gagliardi Trophy national selection committee. One vote per computer. Voting<br />
deadline is noon on Monday, December 5.<br />
University of <strong>Wisconsin</strong>-<strong>Whitewater</strong> senior quarterback Matt Blanchard (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich) is a<br />
finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, the <strong>to</strong>p award in NCAA Division III football. The Gagliardi Trophy is<br />
awarded <strong>to</strong> a player that combines excellence on the field with academic success, and campus and<br />
community service.<br />
Blanchard is one of ten finalists. Four members of this elite group will travel <strong>to</strong> Salem, Virginia for the<br />
presentation of the award. The trophy presentation coincides with activities surrounding the Amos Alonzo<br />
Stagg Bowl, the NCAA championship game that will be played Friday, December 16.<br />
Blanchard has completed 175-256 passes, a .684 completion percentage. He has thrown 20 <strong>to</strong>uchdown<br />
passes and three interceptions, averaging 209.2 yards per game. He has also contributed by rushing for<br />
346 yards, 5.7 yards per attempt and one <strong>to</strong>uchdown. He is fifth in passing efficiency in the NCAA III<br />
statistics.<br />
The ultimate measure of Blanchard is his contribution <strong>to</strong> winning. He earned All-<strong>Wisconsin</strong> Intercollegiate<br />
Athletic Conference First Team honors the last two seasons, and has contributed <strong>to</strong> three WIAC<br />
championships, three NCAA playoff berths, and helped the team advance <strong>to</strong> the national title game all<br />
