UW-Whitewater head coach Lance Leipold and senior running back Levell Coppage (Oak Park, IL/Oak
Warhawks were named to the first, second, honorable mention or sportsmanship teams.
Leipold, in his fifth season at UW-W with a 67-3 record overall and 43-1 in the WIAC, earned the WIAC
George Chryst Coach of the Year honor for the third consecutive year. He has directed the Warhawks to
five WIAC titles, four consecutive Division III title games and three national championships, and a fortygame
Coppage repeats the Player of the Year selection that he also earned in 2010, becoming the fifth player in
WIAC history to earn the honor twice. One of the previous four was his former teammate, UW-W
placekicker Jeff Schebler (2006-2009). Coppage, the only player in WIAC history to rush for at least
UW-W teammates joining Coppage on the All-WIAC First Team Offense were wideout Tyler Huber
(Mukwonago/North Prairie), offensive lineman Logan Allemand (Kenosha/Tremper), quarterback Matt
Blanchard (Lake Zurich, IL/Lake Zurich), and placekicker Eric Kindler (Germantown/Germantown).
Huber, a junior, led UW-W in receptions (54) and yards receiving (905). He caught a personal collegiate
high, and team season, high ten passes in last Saturday's win over UW-La Crosse. Allemand, a senior
who was an honorable mention selection last year, paved the way for Coppage, helping the Warhawks
lead the WIAC in rushing offense, total offense, and scoring offense. Blanchard led the WIAC in passing
efficiency, combining a high completion percentage (.685), touchdown passes (19) with just three
interceptions. Blanchard, repeating as First Team All-WIAC, has thrown for 2,133 yards. Kindler
connected of 13-18 field goals and 43-44 extra points this season. His four field goals against UW-La
Crosse tied the UW-W record, and his two field goals were crucial in Whitewater's 20-17 win at UW-
Oshkosh.
Whitewater's First Team All-WIAC Defense picks included lineman Casey Casper (Dousman/Kettle
Moraine), linebacker Greg Arnold (Big Bend/Mukwonago), and defensive back Noah Timm (Two
Rivers/Two Rivers). Casper, a senior, led UW-Whitewater in tackles for a loss (9 for 35 yards) and
quarterback sacks (5.5 for 22 yards). He made 43 tackles, tied for second on the team, while also
contributing a pass block, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Arnold, another senior, led the
Warhawks with 45 tackles despite missing three games with an injury. He was a second team all-league
pick in 2010. Timm, a junior, tied for the lead in the WIAC with five interceptions and was second in
passes broken up (1.3/game). Two interceptions and a blocked field goal attempt played a key role in
Whitewater's win over UW-Eau Claire. Timm also has 33 tackles this season.
Four UW-Whitewater players were named to the All-WIAC Second Team Defense. The honorees were
linemen Jake Hohlstein (Portage/Portage) and Jake Keeser (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson), linebacker
Ryan Cortez (Palatine, IL/Palatine, IL), and back Ryan Wenkman (Wisconsin Dells/Wisconsin Dells).
