The winner of <strong>to</strong>day's game will advance <strong>to</strong> the second round of the NCAA DIII playoffs <strong>to</strong> play either<br />

Franklin University or Tomas More College November 26. The location will be announced Sunday<br />

November 20 and a kickoff of <strong>12</strong>:00 is recommended by the NCAA. As teams advance, the third round<br />

(quarterfinals) will be played Saturday December 3, the fourth round (semifinals) will be played Saturday<br />

December 10, and the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl will be held in Salem, Virginia on Friday December 16.<br />

Kiesow, Rosholt Earn Academic Honors<br />

University of <strong>Wisconsin</strong>-<strong>Whitewater</strong> seniors Jared Kiesow (Horicon/Horicon) and Kris Rosholt<br />

(Reedsburg/Reedsburg) have been named <strong>to</strong> the College Sports Information Direc<strong>to</strong>rs of America<br />

Division III Academic All-District Football Team, sponsored by Capi<strong>to</strong>l One.<br />

The CoSIDA Capi<strong>to</strong>l One program recognizes student athletes that excelled in the classroom with<br />

significant contributions <strong>to</strong> their team. UW-W's district includes Division III schools in Minnesota,<br />

Michigan and <strong>Wisconsin</strong>.<br />

Kiesow is a senior elementary education major with a 3.89 (4.0 scale) cumulative grade point. He is a<br />

Karl and Doris Zahn Scholarship recipient, has earned UW-W's Student Athlete Achievement Award three<br />

years, is a multiple honoree on the Dean's List, and been on the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> Intercollegiate Athletic<br />

Conference Scholastic Honor Roll three years. Kiesow participated in the Souls for Soles shoe drive<br />

during the 2009-2010 school year, and is a Bible study leader. Kiesow was honored with the NCAA's<br />

Elite 88 Award for the highest grade point at a championship event, the Stagg Bowl, last year. He is a<br />

two year starter at defensive back.<br />

Rosholt, UW-W's punter for four years, is a senior physical education major with an emphasis in health<br />

education and special education. He has a 3.77 cumulative GPA, attaining Dean's List honors each<br />

semester. He has been on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll three years and earned the UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong><br />

Academic Achievement Award three times. He received the Nishan Education Scholarship. Rosholt<br />

participated in the Souls for Soles shoe drive, mustache May, Relay for Life, and Reading with the<br />

<strong>Warhawks</strong>. He is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a Bible study leader.<br />

As All-District picks both players will be placed on a national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America<br />

honors. CoSIDA has eight districts. The recognition is not an au<strong>to</strong>matic threshold, but a competitive<br />

ballot that sports information professionals nation-wide vote on.<br />

Kiesow and Rosholt have been a part of four consecutive WIAC championship teams, with those teams<br />

also advancing championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, in the NCAA III playoffs in 2008, 2009<br />

and 2010, winning national titles the last two years. The duo is part of a senior class that has gone 53-2<br />

overall, and 27-1 in the WIAC.<br />

UW-W will open the 2011 NCAA playoffs Saturday, November 19, hosting Albion College for a <strong>12</strong>:00<br />

kickoff at Perkins Stadium.<br />
