UW-W defensive back Noah Timm (Two Rivers/Two Rivers) intercepted a Beau pass <strong>to</strong> end the Pointers’<br />

next drive, and linebacker Ryan Cortez (Palatine, IL/Palatine, IL) picked off Beau in the Pointers’ last ditch<br />

effort.<br />

The Warhawk defense sacked Beau six times, four of those coming in the second half. Five players<br />

contributed <strong>to</strong> the sack <strong>to</strong>tal, and UW-W <strong>to</strong>taled eight tackles for a loss. The six sacks are a season high,<br />

and the most since November 20, 2010 and <strong>Whitewater</strong>’s win over Franklin College in the first round of<br />

the NCAA III playoffs. Sophomore linebacker Cole Klotz (Elm Grove/New Berlin Eisenhower) led the<br />

defense with nine tackles, one sack, and 1.5 tackles for a loss.<br />

Beau led the Pointers with 18 rushes for 53 yards, and he was 13-31 passing for 223 yards. Wide<br />

receivers Mike Mullins, 8 for 66, and Maglio, 4-102, were his primary targets. Senior defensive back Joe<br />

Mleziva led both teams with 15 tackles, and senior linebacker Curtis Crump added ten.<br />

UW-W will travel <strong>to</strong> Eau Claire <strong>to</strong> face the Blugolds Saturday for a 3:00 kickoff. UW-W will close out the<br />

regular season at home November <strong>12</strong> at 1:00 with UW-La Crosse visiting Perkins Stadium. For home<br />

The UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong> football team continues <strong>to</strong> hold the number one spot in the D3Football.com Top 25<br />

Poll and AFCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll after adding <strong>to</strong> their undefeated record against UW-<br />

Stevens Point, 31-16, Saturday, Oc<strong>to</strong>ber 29 th <strong>to</strong> make the <strong>Warhawks</strong> 8-0 overall.<br />

The <strong>Warhawks</strong> have held the number one spot nine weeks in a row while rival Mount Union has held the<br />

number two spot for nine weeks in a row. UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong> received 39 of the 42 possible first place votes<br />

in the AFCA Top 25 and 19 of the 25 first place votes in the D3Football Top 25.<br />

UW-<strong>Whitewater</strong> will play UW-Eau Claire Saturday, November 5 th at 3:00 in Eau Claire.<br />
