Coppage, Arnold Tabbed Preseason All-Americans 7/26/2011 Senior runningback Levell Coppage (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park) and senior linebacker Greg Arnold (Big Bend/Mukwonago) have been named to the 2011 D3football.com Preseason All-America Team. Coppage is a first team pick and Arnold was named to the second team. Coppage has earned first team All-America honors each of his first three years. He rushed for 1,461 yards as a freshman, followed by 2,107 yards in both 2009 and 2010. He averaged over six yards per carry the last two years and has totaled 81 rushing touchdowns in his career, the school and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record. A First Team All-WIAC pick three times, Coppage was named the league’s MVP in 2009 and 2010. Arnold was second on the team in 2010 in tackles (78), solo tackles (39), tackles for a loss (10.5), and quarterback sacks (7). He was also credited with two interceptions, seven passes broken up, three fumbles recovered, and four fumbles caused. Arnold helped the Warhawk defense rank second in Division III against the run, fifth in scoring defense, and thirteenth in yards allowed. Coppage was named to The Sporting News Division III Preseason All-America Team and Lindy’s Sports Division III All-America Team in June. He was joined on the Lindy’s team by offensive lineman Logan Allemand (Kenosha/Tremper), and Arnold was also tabbed by the Sporting News. Coppage and Arnold have both contributed to three WIAC championships, three straight NCAA III championship playoff berths, a spot in the Division III championship game three times, and national titles in 2009 and 2010 following back-to-back 15-0 seasons. Top Ranked Warhawks Picked to Win WIAC 8/10/2011 The Warhawk football team, ranked atop the national rankings in the D3football.com, Sporting News and Lindy’s Sports polls, has been picked to win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football title this season. UW-Whitewater swept up all first place votes made by the conference sports information directors this season. The two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III defending national champions currently hold the NCAA’s longest win streak in any division at 30 games, a 21 game home win streak and 17 consecutive conference victories. The Warhawks have advanced to the Division III national championship--the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl--six consecutive years capturing titles in three of the last four seasons.
