Assistant Coach Nelson Edmonds<br />
Edmonds returns <strong>to</strong> <strong>Whitewater</strong> for a sixteenth year on the Warhawk<br />
coaching staff, serving again as running backs coach as well as the special<br />
teams coordina<strong>to</strong>r. After graduating from Madison East High School,<br />
Edmonds attended Northern Michigan University where he was an allconference<br />
running back. Edmonds also works as an assistant direc<strong>to</strong>r in<br />
<strong>UW</strong>-<strong>Whitewater</strong>’s Academic Advising and Exploration Center. He spent the<br />
2006-07 academic year in an advising position at the University of<br />
Wisconsin in Madison.<br />
Edmonds, with wife Amy, resides in <strong>Whitewater</strong> with two daughters, Alisendra and Matiana.<br />
Assistant Coach Kevin Bullis<br />
Kevin Bullis is entering his fourth season working with the Warhawk<br />
defense. Prior <strong>to</strong> joining the Warhawk team, he served as the defensive<br />
coordina<strong>to</strong>r for <strong>UW</strong>-River Falls. Bullis was with <strong>UW</strong>-River Falls from 1995<br />
through 2007, leading the Falcon defense <strong>to</strong> the <strong>to</strong>p ranking in the WIAC in<br />
1999. Before coaching at River Falls he was the defensive coordina<strong>to</strong>r at<br />
Gustavus Adolphus College for two seasons. He did his first <strong>to</strong>ur of duty<br />
with the Falcons from 1990-1993 serving as linebackers coach. During that<br />
first stint Bullis coached four all-conference linebackers, two All-American<br />
linebackers, and helped the Falcons achieve the number one defense in the WSUC in 1992.<br />
Bullis graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris with a bachelor’s degree in social<br />
science and secondary education, then added a master’s in his<strong>to</strong>ry from <strong>UW</strong>-River Falls. Bullis<br />
and his wife Kathy have three children, Jake, JoJo, and Emme.<br />
Assistant Coach Josh Gehring<br />
Josh Gehring enters his second year as the quarterback coach and pass<br />
game coordina<strong>to</strong>r for the Warhawk football team.<br />
As offensive coordina<strong>to</strong>r, Gehring helped guide Morningside in<strong>to</strong> the<br />
National Association of Intercollegiate <strong>Athletics</strong> playoffs in 2007, 2008 and<br />
2009. The Mustangs went from averaging 24 points per game <strong>to</strong> 36.1<br />
(2007), <strong>to</strong> 48 (2008) and finally 45.1 (2009). Morningside averaged over<br />
400 yards per game during his three years as the school's offensive<br />
coordina<strong>to</strong>r, with Morningside's quarterbacks completing more than 60% of their passes all<br />
three seasons. After the 2009 season he was named the American Football Coaches<br />
Association NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year.<br />
Gehring's coaching career began as the tight ends coach at his alma mater, Ottawa University<br />
(KS). That was followed by working as the quarterbacks coach at Rock Bridge High School<br />
(MO). His resume includes s<strong>to</strong>ps as special teams coordina<strong>to</strong>r and QB coach at Manchester<br />
College (IN), tight end coach of Western Kentucky, run game coordina<strong>to</strong>r at Missouri State<br />
University, and defensive coordina<strong>to</strong>r at Concordia University (IL).<br />
