Try Cleveland.” That’s what TIME Magazine had to say in their “Film Festivals for the Rest of Us” article, which noted that the Cleveland International Film Festival is “renowned for its diversity and inclusiveness.” So thank you for trying Cleveland. And welcome to the 31st Cleveland International Film Festival! We can hardly believe our age—or our size. In the last five years, we have had a 50% increase in attendance, growing from 35,000 to 52,000 admissions. Our growth has enabled us to provide you with more programming than ever before. This year you will have the opportunity to make your film selections from over 120 features and more than 110 short subjects, representing close to 60 countries. Add our 100 guest filmmakers to that mix and the Film Festival continues to be an exciting, energetic, enthusiastic, and amazingly fun film-going experience. To enhance your experience at the Cleveland International Film Festival, please visit our new and improved website— www.clevelandfilm.org—which has an updated look and even more information. And when you’re at the Film Festival be sure to vote for The Plain Dealer Roxanne T. Mueller Audience Choice Award for Best Film. Your votes will also determine the Greg Gund Standing Up Film Competition Award and the new Time Warner Cable American Independents Award. And don’t forget to vote for our new Cleveland State University Audience Choice Award for Best Short Subject.
