We are all aware of the power of vkhp,, but the
,ukhp, of children are most especially dear to the
gWacr and thus hold tremendous power. Recognizing
this, Bikur Cholim created the Tehil-A-Thon campaign
targeting children of all ages to become involved in this vital sxj, and
when better then during the nine days. At this time when we cry for the
destruction of the asenv ,hc and daven for asenv ,hc ihbc we would be
amiss in forgetting our sick brothers and sisters. Bikur Cholim’s Project
H.O.P.E. addresses the needs of these children and adults who are bed
bound bringing the entertainment to them, resulting in smiles and hope.
With your participation in the Tehil-A-Thon you are contributing two-fold
to the well being of the ill, through your ,ukhp, and through the money
you raise for Project H.O.P.E.
Children from countless communities are joining the Tehil-A-Thon with
the expectation that thousands of ohkhv, ltkyhpte will be rectited in the
nine days. May wv give you much vfrc and the
ability to always be on the giving side.

PARENT OF A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE TEHIL-A-THON
My son Chesky is a fifteen year old developmentally delayed boy. When Tehil-athon
was introduced in his camp, Camp Chevra, the competitive spirit affected
him as well and he was determined to give the Tehil-a-thon program his all. For
him to reach his goal of $600 (so he could win a gameboy) he would have to put
in much more effort than the other boys; so we set to work on making it happen.
Explaining the Tehil-a-thon program to all the acquaintances he approached
for sponsorship was a communication project that he mastered
beautifully. We explained how the program works until he understood it
well, we wrote a script which he practiced to perfection, and learned
many telephone skills while accumulating sponsors. His joy at getting
closer to “his gameboy” was contagious! The whole family was involved in
encouraging him to continue saying pirkei tehillim through the course of
the contest and marked his progress towards his goal with a large,
graphic chart hanging on the kitchen wall. And reach his goal he did!
Chesky said 18 kapitlach, raising a total of $600 and receiving a gameboy
for himself and an ice cream machine for the family. He proved that all
one needs to participate in the Tehil-a-thon is a tehillim and a heart. But
more than what Chesky accomplished for cholim & Bikur Cholim, the Tehila-thon
did for Chesky!

davened for ktrah hkuj and the money raised for
Project H.O.P.E. was instrumental in cheering up many
patients, both hospitalized and homebound throughout
New York and beyond, giving them the courage to fight

When I was asked to join Bikur Cholim in launching the
Tehil-a-Thon Program, I was very excited and yet
apprehensive. Would it go over well? Would the children
respond? After I witnessed the joyous reaction of
hundreds and hundreds of children, I saw that my
concerns were groundless. What an overwhelming
response from campers and sponsors alike! What a
wv aushe! Thousands of ltkyhpte of ohkhv, being said
for ktrah hbc ubhjt/ Surely the gWacr is sitting on high
collecting these precious ,ukhp, of icr ,hc ka ,ueubh,.
In their merit, may we be vfuz to see ,uguah ,utupru for

In each and every single way.
It got the children enthusiastically say,

It gave nonathletic children a chance to win,

Children with disabilities got a chance to excel,
They can say ohkhv, and raise money just as well.
Children who scholastically struggle all the time,
With ohkhv, and money they did perfectly fine.
