Hospitality
Introduction
The essence of hospitality is creating an atmosphere
where people feel comfortable and relaxed. Quality
textiles are instrumental in helping to achieve this,
as they play a fundamental role in how we perceive
and use interior spaces.
Textiles allow you to precisely define the mood you
want: curtains can transform a room by influencing light
and acoustics, whilst when we interact with furniture,
upholstery completes the experience.
At Kvadrat, we have been developing premium quality,
contemporary curtains and upholstery for over 40 years.
Since 2007 we have delivered over 1000 hospitality
projects, putting us in a unique position to understand
and meet the specific needs of the sector.
Our comprehensive collection reflects our commitment
to colour, simplicity and innovation. We use the newest
production techniques to optimise the quality, performance
and longevity of our products, whilst minimising
their environmental impact. As a result, many of our
textiles are particularly well suited to hospitality.
Today hospitality is an increasingly globalised industry,
and we offer our clients the benefits of a worldwide
network, staffed by a team of highly trained sales
representatives who offer expertise and insightful advice,
from initial consultation through to post-sales support.
Inside this brochure we would like to take you through
our hospitality collection, where you will discover an
extensive range of textiles that are applicable to a wide
variety of different venues.
Kvadrat collection
Consisting of over 150 designs and more than 2200
colours, the versatile Kvadrat collection is characterised
by originality, technological innovation, high-quality
materials and aesthetic excellence.
Produced to the highest standards, our curtains,
upholstery and acoustic panels are used in leading
hotels, restaurants and conference centres all over
the world.
All the textiles in the collection adhere to our strict
quality and environmental guidelines, whilst complying
with the relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
Our extensive network and specialisation ensure that
they are the highest possible quality and have an
extremely long life span.
Our curtains and upholstery offer the security of a
10-year warranty, which provides for the replacement
of the textiles, in case of accepted claims. This covers
lightfastness, abrasion, shrinkage and flammability,
according to the test results specified in our technical
specifications.
Comprehensive service
We offer the hospitality industry an extensive suite of
end-to-end services. Our textiles meet a wide variety
of requirements, including curtains, and upholstery
for chairs and headboards. For larger orders, we offer
the possibility of ‘specials’, which are customised
orders of unique colours, cuts and weaves.
We work very closely with our customers from the
outset. Thorough planning ensures that we deliver
high-quality, innovative designs that match the
budget, well before tendering is due to begin.
As a design leader, we ensure our sales representatives
have an in-depth understanding of our products and
how they fit with modern trends in architecture and
design. This, combined with local and industry specific
knowledge, puts them in a unique position to offer
insightful ideas and advice.
Importantly for an industry that often operates across
borders, we offer the confidence that comes from
working with a global network – we have 17 showrooms
and a presence in 20 countries across the world. We
also enjoy long-term relationships with many leading
premium furniture manufacturers. This puts us in an
excellent position to promptly meet our clients’
precise requirements.
During the selection process for our hotels, Kvadrat
provided excellent advice on a number of criteria,
including wear, pilling resistance, ease of maintenance,
lightfastness and conformity with fire standards. Their
team offers an impressive combination of comprehensive
service, quality textiles and excellent value for money.
Commitment to the environment
At Kvadrat respect for the natural and social environment
is a guiding principle. It is reflected in all our products,
processes and supplier relationships.
We seek the latest technologies to minimise the environ-
mental impact of our products, whilst maximising their
aesthetic quality, functional performance and durability.
We regularly review our business systems and partner
relationships to ensure the highest possible ethical and
environmental standards. In addition, we work closely
with suppliers to ensure potentially damaging substances
are never used in our products and processes.
Many of our textiles have been recognised for their
environmental credentials with EU ‘Flower’ Ecolabels.
The EU ‘Flower’ Ecolabel is unique in the fact that it is
the only Ecolabel awarded to products that meet strict
environmental and performance criteria. These take into
account the entire production process, types of fibre
used, and the finished textile’s fitness for use.
We never use:
AZO dyes, which can split off into carcinogenic acrylamides
Dyes containing heavy metals
Bromide flame-retardants
Chemicals that require chlorine for production
PVC in base production
The reduction of resources is indispensable in architecture;
and all technologies which are able to avoid an egocentric
modernism are important. I call this ‘ecotecture’: mixing
ecology, economy and architecture in a responsible
manner in order to optimise the quality and minimise
the environmental impact.
Recommended hospitality fabrics
Trevira CS
90% of Kvadrat curtain fabrics are made of Trevira CS,
a type of polyester made from top quality yarn, which
is hardwearing and absorbs very little water. As a result,
it is easy and economical to maintain. Importantly, it is
also 100% flame retardant, hypoallergenic and certified
according to Oeko-Tex 100 Standard.
Wool
We choose the best quality wool, sourcing from
New Zealand, Australia and Norway. Wool is natural,
long-lasting and comes from a renewable source.
It offers a host of functional benefits that make it ideal
for hospitality, including excellent breathability and
inherent flame resistance.
Waterborn
Microfibre is an exceptionally thin fibre, typically
made from man-made materials like nylon, polyester
and polyurethane. It is used to construct light, soft
and hardwearing fabrics, which offer an alternative
with a lower environmental impact to suede and leather.
Kvadrat’s Waterborn sets new standards for microfibre
textiles in terms of environmental impact and
performance. Unlike other microfibre fabrics, it is
manufactured using only warm water and no solvents.
This innovative production process, which recycles
water in a closed system, delivers water savings of
up to 70% and generates 35% less CO2 compared to
conventional microfibre production.
As Waterborn is constructed from very thin fibres,
it is softer and more comfortable than other microfibre
textiles. It also moulds to furniture more smoothly,
maintains its colour and surface more effectively
when embossed, and can be washed at 60°.
We love Kvadrat because they have their finger on the
pulse of innovative fabrics and design, but they never
forget quality texture and a fabulous colour palette.
We like to feel we are one step ahead with Kvadrat.
Soft Cells – Aesthetically pure
sound conditioning
Kvadrat Soft Cells are patented panels, which control
sound absorption. Suitable as building components
or for post-fitting, they allow you to create an aesthetic
environment with excellent acoustic properties.
Acoustics play a major role in creating a comfortable
and relaxing atmosphere. For this reason, Soft Cells
are particularly relevant to the hospitality industry.
They promote a sense of well-being wherever they
are used, and increase productivity in business areas,
such as conference rooms and other high-traffic areas.
Soft Cells are now available in three durable versions,
all of which enable architects and designers to optimise
the environmental quality of their projects: Soft Cells,
Soft Cells Broadline, which offers Class-A sound
absorption, and new Soft Cells Thermal. This latest
version of Soft Cells features innovative ‘Thermal
Transparency’ technology, and can be used in combination
with thermally activated building systems (TABS),
while still ensuring strong acoustic performance.
Importantly, thanks to their sustainability-focused design,
Soft Cells support accreditation under the Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building certification
system when used as a building component. Built
to last, they can be reupholstered and reused as required.
Soft Cells are supported with 360° service, which
includes acoustic advice, if required. They also offer
the security of a 10-year warranty, if installed by our
certified White Glove Installers.
The FANNYARONSEN collection
The sophisticated FANNYARONSEN collection reflects
a commitment to quality that extends across the
designs, materials and manufacturing processes.
Designed by Fanny Aronsen, it is comprised of
upholstery, curtains, accessories and wallcoverings.
The collection is characterised by a unique blend of
materials, contemporary design ideas, lavish colours
and tactile fabrics. Fanny Aronsen’s designs reveal
clues that she takes influences from her Nordic history
and cultural background and translates them into a
contemporary context. However, ultimately, her work
transcends all borders.
Whilst every FANNYARONSEN fabric has a distinctive
character, all the designs, colours and textiles in the
collection relate to each other, making it ideal for
mixing and matching.
As a result, the FANNYARONSEN collection offers
an intriguing blend of individuality and unity, which
delivers virtually limitless opportunities and inspiration
for developing a personalised interior style.
Fanny Aronsen has received several awards for her
designs, including the German Rote Punkt, the Swedish
Utmärkt Svensk Form and the Dutch Mobila Innovative
Prijs and Goed Industrieel Ontwerp.
Curiosity, innovation and intuition are the cornerstones
of my collection: as a result, all the textiles in the
