• j month. Dr. John Orosz was<br />

• l l elected a fellow of the College of<br />

^^ American Pathologists in 1993.<br />

He is the laboratory director at Brooks Memorial<br />

Hospital in Dunkirk, NY. Last summer<br />

Dr. Ronald Hanovice presented free<br />

community lectures in Kingston, NY on the<br />

subject of cataracts. Charles McClaugherty,<br />

an assistant professor of biology, was<br />

named Mount Union College's Great Teacher<br />

for 1992-93. Charles lives in Alliance, OH<br />

with wife Martha and two daughters.<br />

Alice Abreu, JD '78, was named the<br />

Charles Klein professor in law and government<br />

at Temple's law school in August 1993.<br />

Mona Deutsch Miller reports that she is<br />

an attorney at John Kronstadt's law firm.<br />

She lives in Los Angeles with husband Steve<br />

and their 5-year-old daughter. John's wife,<br />

Helen (Bendix), her mother, and Mona<br />

have gotten together to perform some chamber<br />

music.<br />

John and Nancy Soper Peters are living<br />

in Hampton Bays, NY. Nancy is a full<br />

professor at Long Island U., and John has<br />

been teaching at C. W. Post. Robert and<br />

Irene Reh reported daughter Maureen graduated<br />

from St. John's U. in 1993. Robert and<br />

Irene return to campus every few years and<br />

"climb McGraw Tower on each visit to bring<br />

back all the great memories of having been<br />

a student at <strong>Cornell</strong>." Harold and Judith<br />

Doty's daughter was to graduate from the<br />

U. of Texas this year.<br />

Faith Falick Segal is working part time<br />

as a lawyer and is enjoying spending the rest<br />

of the time with husband Elliott and their<br />

daughter Natalie, 2. Bill Evans moved with<br />

his wife and two children from California to<br />

N. Stonington, CT and accepted a job with<br />

Computer Sciences Corp. as an account executive.<br />

Ron Skalko and I enjoyed John<br />

Lerew's wedding in March. The best man,<br />

Jim Favier, was there with his wife, Ginny,<br />

and daughter Alexandria, 3. The newlyweds<br />

honeymooned in Hawaii.<br />

Phyllis and husband David lead a "quiet and<br />

peaceful" life in E. Lansing, MI with daughter<br />

Katie, 9, and triplets Anna, Christine, and<br />

Mitchell, 5. Please send her some news. I'll<br />

then: Morris Diamant is a radiologist on<br />

staff at Massachusetts General Hospital<br />

and other area hospitals. He and wife Lisa<br />

(Diamant) '76 live in Lexington, MA. He<br />

reports that they see John Gmeiner, wife<br />

Faye, and daughter Julie, 5. The Gmeiners<br />

live in Kennebunk, ME, where John<br />

is a clinical psychologist.<br />

Jo Ann Kraatz Paduch writes that<br />

she has launched a new career within Aetna<br />

as scriptwriter for corporate video and<br />

television. Her first script for her town<br />

(Somers, CT) board of education was produced<br />

and won an award. Husband David<br />

'75 works at Hamilton Standard, a division of<br />

UTC. Children Jeff, 15, and twins Amy and<br />

Christine, 11, keep Jody busy as "taxi driver"<br />

to jazz band, basketball, soccer, hockey,<br />

and golf.<br />

Stephen and Gail Grooms Lyon have<br />

a new address: 16 Tanager La., Cranbury,<br />

NJ. Stephen was promoted to the rank of<br />

full professor in the electrical engineering<br />

department at Princeton U. They have children<br />

Catherine, 16, Dean, 15, Mary, 9, and<br />

Thomas, 7. Jim Hatfield practices specialized<br />

dentistry in Summit, NJ, where he and<br />

wife Kelly are active volunteers. Jim is on<br />

the local board of health, and Kelly is vice<br />

president of the board of education and is<br />

an advocate for special education and Special<br />

Olympics in New Jersey. With kids<br />

Katie, 15, Meghan, 11, and Jimmy III, 9, they<br />

play ice hockey, ski, and enjoy sailing on<br />

the Jersey Shore.<br />

David Salai is a partner in a utility auditing<br />

company that analyzes opportunities<br />

for cost savings in corporate utility bills. He<br />

writes, "Next time you're in Richmond, VA,<br />

give me a call and we'll go out and have a<br />

couple." David can be reached at (804) 745-<br />

9000. Saide Altinsan is doing her residency<br />

in psychiatry at SUNY, Buffalo. Husband<br />

Joe Bovill is an anesthesiologist at the Veterans'<br />

Administration Hospital in Buffalo.<br />

They have daughters Sara, 6, and Jana, 4.<br />

Alexandr Neratoff opened an architecture<br />

and real estate development office<br />

in Moscow, where his Russian background<br />

is opening many doors. As of December<br />

1992, he was in New York City and gives<br />

(212) 431-3927 as the number where he can<br />

be reached by any classmates interested in<br />

real estate opportunities in Moscow. Jane<br />

S. Haimes left Grey Advertising in NYC in<br />

1986 to return to her original love, painting.<br />

She pays her bills by bartending at the<br />

Doral Tuscany Hotel on E. 39th St. "I would<br />

love to show my work to anyone interested<br />

in displaying it in the appropriate setting.<br />
