broad avenues of the<br />

The battle is over agricultural biotechnology—also<br />

known as bioengineering, genetic engineering, gene<br />

splicing and recombinant DNA.<br />

The powerful technology in question was invented<br />

in the late 1970s and allows scientists to tinker with<br />
