7.5 Cold air prevention system<br />

The heating core is not able to deliver heat inst<strong>an</strong>t<strong>an</strong>eously. By contrast, the f<strong>an</strong> reacts<br />

much quicker to ch<strong>an</strong>ges, so there has to be a mech<strong>an</strong>ism preventing the passengers to be<br />

blown with cold air, which is not com<strong>for</strong>table.<br />

The cold air prevention system avoids this by reducing the f<strong>an</strong> control output when<br />

the outlet air is cold. The air speed-com<strong>for</strong>t relationship found in Section 2.2.2 c<strong>an</strong> be<br />

used as a base. Air flow into the cabin colder th<strong>an</strong> zero degree Celsius should be reduced<br />

to a minimum.
