It c<strong>an</strong> be seen that a large r<strong>an</strong>ge <strong>of</strong> air humidity is acceptable. Influences on the<br />
felt temperature are already implemented in the equations 2.6.<br />
2.2.4 Air quality<br />
Apart from humidity the air in a car contains m<strong>an</strong>y other subst<strong>an</strong>ces. In too high concen-<br />
trations most <strong>of</strong> them lead to unpleas<strong>an</strong>t side effects. Particles like pollen c<strong>an</strong> irritate the<br />
eyes <strong>an</strong>d the mucous membr<strong>an</strong>es. They are mostly filtered in the HVAC-system <strong>an</strong>d will<br />
there<strong>for</strong>e not be taken into account. Gases in differing concentrations c<strong>an</strong> lead to odour<br />
<strong>an</strong>d - very undesirable in a car - impair concentrativeness [13].<br />
The most import<strong>an</strong>t <strong>of</strong> these gases is carbon dioxide which is <strong>of</strong>ten used as <strong>an</strong><br />
indicator <strong>for</strong> air quality <strong>an</strong>d emitted by hum<strong>an</strong>s. A maximum concentration in a working<br />
environment or occupational exposure limit (OEL) is given by a value <strong>of</strong> ��� ���� (which<br />
