In the endeavour <strong>of</strong> this market survey study the c<strong>on</strong>sumers <strong>of</strong> copper in all<br />
sectors were c<strong>on</strong>tacted through corresp<strong>on</strong>dence for data <strong>on</strong> various aspects including<br />
prices.<br />
5.2 INTERNATIONAL PRICES:<br />
The prices <strong>of</strong> copper in the Internati<strong>on</strong>al <str<strong>on</strong>g>Market</str<strong>on</strong>g> were also <strong>on</strong> upsurge. The<br />
reas<strong>on</strong> for this upsurge is obviously the imbalance in demand supply scenario in the<br />
overseas market. China, Japan and Germany were the main driving forces in<br />
increasing the demand <strong>of</strong> copper in the overseas market. The L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong> Metal<br />
Exchange prices <strong>of</strong> copper (highest, lowest and average) are given in Table: 5.3 for<br />
the last twenty years.<br />
