3.1. SIMEAS R CONFIGURATION 15 • DAU.bin • Parm.txt • Slot1 - 4.txt After that, the hard-disk is to remount into the SIMEAS R. After switching it on, the LED’s on the front are beginning to flash. This means that the SIMEAS R is preparing its memory areas, which are defined through Oscop P. During this process the SIMEAS R should not be switched off. To test the proper function and to make some real disturbance recordings, a test-run was performed. In this test-run the SIMEAS R was connected to the public power network over a few weeks. The recordings were viewed with Oscop P. It could be seen that the threshold values were very narrow, so the SIMEAS R had many recordings with very small under- and overvoltages. 3.2. LABORATORY USE 16 Figure 3.1 shows the SIMEAS R in the test setup for testing the proper function. The laptop is used to configure it and to transfer the disturbance recordings and is connect to the service interface on the front side. For an easy use together with the power network model, the SIMEAS R was equipped with cables and banana plugs to connect it to the power network model. There are cables to measure three currents together with four voltages and additionally three voltages. 3.2 Laboratory use The exercises in the laboratory exist of setting the correct parameters (limiting values for voltages and currents) with the configuring program OSCOP P which is described in chapter 2 and the proper connection and integration into a power network simulator. Figure 3.2 shows this integration into this simulator. It is an abstract about the functions of the SIMEAS R, the handling of the SIMEAS R and the use of the program OSCOP P to paramterize the SIMEAS R and to transfer the disturbance recordings.
