The binary inputs are assigned exactly to the analog recordings depending on their
real-time values. Furthermore, the output from the OSCOP P program has the form of
a chronologically sorted file, i.e. in the form of an event recorder system. This means
that a separate event recorder system does not need to be installed.
2.3 Interfaces
2.3.1 Common interfaces
The following interfaces are provided for connecting the peripherals and for remote
data transfer
• Printer interface LPT1 (rear)
• PCCARD slot type 2 to accomodate:
– an analog modem V.21, V.22, V.32, V.34, V.90
– Ethernet LAN connection
• COM 1 data interface for: (rear)
– an external digital modem (EURO-ISDN), X.25 pad
• COM 2/COM S maintenance interface for: (front)
– a notebook (on-site configuration)
2.3.2 Data acquisition units
Data acquisition units (DAUs) are provided for connection to the various processes.
The signals are connected via terminals on the rear side. The DAUs contain the com-
plete signal conditioning functions, the analog/digital conversion functions and the
entire downstream digital processing.
