A <strong>History</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>Doctrine</strong><br />

over twenty percent <strong>of</strong> the world’s population. Although<br />

separated by the papacy, to a great extent they are theological<br />

and ideological twins. While both advocate traditional<br />

doctrines and moral positions, most <strong>of</strong> their<br />

members have adopted the values and lifestyle <strong>of</strong> modern,<br />

secular society.<br />

The Catholics and the Orthodox are in ecumenical<br />

dialogue with each other, with the Protestants, and even<br />

with non-<strong>Christian</strong> religions. It is possible that in the<br />

future Roman Catholicism could be the basis <strong>of</strong> a worldwide<br />

communion <strong>of</strong> <strong>Christian</strong>s <strong>of</strong> many denominations,<br />

and ultimately it could become the foundation for one<br />

worldwide church.<br />
