Pentecostal churches <strong>of</strong>ten remark that the prayer, worship,<br />

and move <strong>of</strong> the Spirit there is less fervent, demonstrative,<br />

and intense than what they typically experience<br />

in their own churches.<br />

In sum, Second Work Trinitarian Pentecostals and<br />

Finished Work Trinitarian Pentecostals adhere to the<br />

basic doctrines <strong>of</strong> early Pentecostalism, but their teaching,<br />

preaching, worship, and lifestyle have gradually<br />

become less distinctive, less zealous, more Evangelical,<br />

and more middle-class American. Oneness Pentecostals<br />

retain much <strong>of</strong> the earlier characteristics <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Pentecostal movement as a whole, but their distinguishing<br />

doctrines have caused them to remain relatively isolated<br />

from other Pentecostals and Evangelicals to this day.<br />
