Notify MAC's IT department when you're experiencing
network problems, equipment trouble and other technical
issues by logging in to the helpdesk software.
You can follow the simple steps below to place the
link on your desktop for easy access:
1. Go to your G:\ Drive
2. Click on the MAC IT Helpdesk folder
3. Right Click on the MAC IT Helpdesk shortcut
4. Click on “Send To…”
5. Click on Desktop
You can also find a link on the MyMAC Staff Tab
under Employee Resources.

FAFSA Frenzy
Mineral Area College will be hosting a FAFSA
Frenzy Event on Sunday, February 12th, from 2-4
pm in the Technology Center. In case of inclement
weather, listen for announcements on the radio and
through MAC Text Alert. The make-up date of the
event will be on Sunday, February 19th at the same
time and location.
Promote Your Event
Pam Watkins, MAC's Continuing Education Director,
sends out a newsletter that reaches 600 people.
The newsletter features community events. If you
would like a future event on campus or in the community
included, please let her know a week before
the end of the month. You can e-mail pdwatkin@
MineralArea.edu or call her at ext 2342.

allow us to follow up.

HAZWOPER and Soil
Remediation training, a new online nursing program
and exciting opportunities in Pharmacy and Industrial
Maintenance through MO HealthWins. MAC's Grant
Writer, Pam Watkins has been instrumental in working
with other MAC employees, researching and writing
grants to help make these programs possible on
our campus. In addition she's running a Continuing
Education program that provides classes in everything
from sewing to salsa, cupcakes to computers! Thanks
Pam for helping MAC succeed in our mission to serve
our community and provide opportunities.
Congratulations to Sandy Price who was married to
Danny Lefever on January 17 in Chattanooga,
Tennessee!

Alivia Jean Wilfong was born January 6,
weighed 5 lbs. 1oz, and was 17.5 inches long.
Proud parents are Derek and Stacy Wilfong.
Maggie Rose Kelly was born January 26,
weighed 8 lbs. 10 ozs. and was 21.5 inches long.

Taking the HEAT!

Heat: Continuously Improving Service" training. If
you have not provided your feedback yet please clickhere.
If you did not receive a Taking the Heat Job Aid
to remind us all how to hear, empathize, acknowledge
and take responsibility; please see Cheri in Vice President
Kennon's office to pick up your copy.
Mark your calendar for our next Professional Development
Day - April 19th. We'll be working on
MAC's Strategic Plan.
Work Study Program
When you have a student to hire, please send them
to Beth Lambert in AS103 (The Career Planning
Center) for paperwork.

Opportunities - Work Study positions.
Always keep track of the hours your student has
worked (copy the timesheet). Students can not work
over the hours you have been allotted from your Dean.

Upcoming Events
Pell Grant Changes
Federal budget cuts have impacted the total dollars
available for Pell Grants each fiscal year.
Effective with the current award year (2011-2012)
students who received a Pell Grant for full-time attendance
for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Semesters
WILL NOT be eligible for a Pell Grant during the
Summer 2012 Semester as they have been during the
past two years. Students who receive a Pell Grant
for less than full-time attendance for Fall 2011 and/
or Spring 2012 Semesters MAY be eligible for a Pell
Grant during the Summer 2012 Semester.
Applications for Summer Pell Grants are available
via MyMAC.

Your input is important as we compile data used in
decision making and needed for our AQIP accreditation
process. Please complete your Campus Quality
Survey (distributed on Feb 6 and 7) and drop it off to
the front desk in Student Services. We must submit the
