The two clubs are actively involved throughout the calendar year in “Serving Together” projects and in community service ac- tivities. Fundraising activities are scheduled throughout the year to raise funds for the many local, national and international charitable organizations we support. “We Serve” so that others less fortunate than us may benefit from our unified efforts. At the “Night of Giving” members of the Hebron Lions Club presented checks to representatives from local organizations (Camp Hemlocks, Fidelco, AHM Youth Services, RHAM Project Graduation, Hebron Senior Center, Douglas Library of Hebron, Hebron Interfaith Human Services, Camp Rising Sun, Wishes on Wheels-Make A Wish Foundation, Hebron Fire Department). Lions Club District 23 C elected officers and chairpersons representing Lions charities, accepted checks dedicated to funds we support ( CLERF-Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation-$2,000, Ct. Lions Low Vision Center of Eastern Connecticut-$1,000, International Lions SightFirst II-$6,500, Lions Clubs International Foundation-$2,000, CRIS-CT. Radio Information System-$500- $500, District Diabetes Committee $500). The Hebron Lions Club also gives $8,000 in local scholarships. In combination with funds donated throughout the year and on the Night of Giving the club has given near to $48,000 this year. Special Olympics Regional Games at Weaver High School on May 9, 2009. The students and advisors assist in running the Softball and TurboJav Throw events at the games. The RHAM students enjoy going to the games to support and cheer on Team RHAM which consists of classmates, special partners and coaches from the communites they live in.
