4 COLBY-SAWYER COLLEGE ANNUAL REPORT A NNUAL R EPORT A MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT October 2008 Dear Friends: This report celebrates the decision that all of you who are listed in this publication made to support Colby- Sawyer College with a gift during the 2008 fiscal year. By quickly scanning the pages that follow this one, you know that thousands of alumni, parents and friends made the same decision you made. Colby-Sawyer is stronger with your support. Every gift to Colby-Sawyer helps students and inspires us to strive to be better each day. Our hope is that each time you make a gift to the college, you benefit, too. Every gift, of every amount, opens up a possibility. In conversations with alumni throughout the past year, I had opportunities to talk about college priorities and dreams, and to learn about the issues important to members of the Colby-Sawyer family. On several occasions, when an alumna/us learned that by making a gift to the college, and directing it to a particular purpose, he or she could resolve an issue or bring a dream to life, their philanthropy became inspired. I hope you will continue to support Colby-Sawyer in the years ahead. More importantly, I hope you will allow us an opportunity each year to ensure that your giving is not born of habit or obligation, but rather that we have inspired you to invest in Colby-Sawyer in ways that make a difference to you and to the college we love.
