Chromatography (SMB) 

Description 

A System that produces up to 

100 kg of pure compounds per year 

The SMB System CSEP ® C916 is used 

for extracting pure substances on a 

semi-preparative scale. Like the »big« 

system, CSEP ® C912, the pilot facility 

enables continuous operation and 

high efficiency. 

The system operates with a thermostat 

and can hold up to 16 SMB columns of 

equal type. The patented Multi-Port 

Valve with 64 ports guarantees a compact 

design that maintains an incredibly 

small total dead volume. 

The continuous product feed is distributed 

across the entire surface of the stationary 

phase. Thus, the extraction 

yields maximum results. 


Due to individual requirements, 

columns are excluded from the standard 

delivery. We can recommend appropriate 

columns and packing materials 

according to your specific needs.

for its continous operation and high 

productivity. The continous delivery of 

feed and desorbent enables permanent 

extraction of two fractions at high 

concentrations. 

The thermostated system can hold up to 

12 SMB columns of similar type in terms 

of column packing, column dimensions 

etc. The patented Multi-Port Valve with 

its 48 ports is the »heart« of the system. 

The compact design of CSEP ® C912 

dramatically reduces the total dead 

volume compared to other available 

SMB concepts. 

The product is distributed across the 

entire surface of the stationary phase. 

Resulting in a highly efficient system. 

When peak recycling is practiced, one 

can save up to 90 % of eluent consumption! 

Yet this is still not sufficient;

Description 

The »K-1900« is a pneumatic driven 

pump without electronics. Thus, the 

pump is suitable for work in hazardous 

environments. Due to its strong drive, 

it can reach flow rates of up to 2,000 

ml/min. This pump is ideal for column 

packing of microbore, analytical, and 

preparative columns that are under 

conditions up to 1,000 bar. The constant 

flow rate of the pump enables it 

to be used in process and production 

chemistry. Combined with the cooling 

option available, transportation of 

supercritical fluids is made possible.

Description 

The DYNASEAL connection system 

connects capillaries made out of stainless 

steel and PEEK, as well as PTFE and 

Tefzel tubings with saftey and low dead 

volumes. It allows maintenance-free 

operation and provides a long life. 

Suitable for UNF-threads of type 10/32. 

The system consists of a bushing, a splitgrooved 

clamping ring, and a polymer 

sealing. The split-grooved clamping 

ring and polymer sealing are slipped 

over the capillary »back to back«, while 

the bushing tightens all parts. Thus, 

leak-free operation is made possible. 

DYNASEAL connections are pressure 

stable up to 450 bar. 

DYNASEAL can be optionally used with 

double-cone sealings made out of PEEK 

or stainless steel. In this case, pressure 

stability is accordingly reduced to 150 bar 

(PEEK) and 350 bar (polymer). 

DYNASEAL is adaptable in new conditions 

such as variable bore depths or 

detector connections because it is 

mobile and reuseable. 


The DYNASEAL connection system 

is available for capillaries with 1/16” 

(analytical HPLC) and 1/8” (preparative 

HPLC). 

In general, to connect KNAUER, Rheodyne, 

or other injection systems; the 

long head bushings can be delivered 

upon request.

Description 

The Column Inlet Filter can be installed 

between the injection system and the 

column. Column inlet filters protect 

the column from particle contamination 

caused by sealing material (i. e. pump 

pistons). We recommend adding a filter 

after the column. This prevents contamination 

of the detector cell. Inlet filters 

are available in stainless steel and 

PEEK. 

Description 

Ready-to-use filtration units for ultrapurification 

of small sample volumes. 

The chemically resistant polypropylene 

housing has been designed to achieve 

a maximum sample yield with a high 

retention time. Backflow/overflow of 

the filtrate is effectively avoided with

Our deliveries follow ex works. As soon as the merchandise leaves our factory accidental 

loss, damage, destruction, or deterioration is at the buyer’s own risk. The guarantee 

is valid for one year with the exception of cullet, expendable items such as lamps, 

columns, seals, valves, and damage due to clogging or jamming. This guarantee 

strictly applies to osmometers and devices used in liquid chromatography. 

The delivered merchandise will remain our property until payment has been made, 

received in full, and all claims have been met. We reserve the right for any modifications 

in technical advancement.

Conditions of Sale 

1. Definition of Terms 

The following terms and conditions apply to every order received 

by us. This is especially applicable in case of contradictory buying 

conditions of sale. Exceptions are only valid when confirmed 

by us in writing. 

Purchase orders are only binding if confirmed by us in writing. 

2. Payment 

Domestic deliveries are payable, net, within 30 days of invoice 

date or in advance. Deductions are not allowed. 

Foreign deliveries must be paid by irrevocable letter of credit or 

in advance. All bank and transfer fees must be paid by the 

customer. The maturity date passed the customer is in default 

even without an additional reminder. Upon delay interest of five 

percent above the German Federal Bank discount rate will be 

added to the purchase price, if we do not prove a higher damage 

or the customer proves a lower damage. 

Payments are due irrespective of an eventual notice of defect, 

except such defects which are evidently justified. 

3. Delivery 

Delivery dates are not binding. Delay in delivery requires a 

written reminder and an adequate additional period of grace set 

by the customer, after which customer may rescind the contract. 

Claims for damages of any kind are excluded. 

4. Claims 

Condition for any warranty claim is the immediate inspection of 

the goods upon delivery, complaint towards and damage assessment 

together with the carrier, and an immediate written complaint 

to us. The complaint must be made within three workdays 

in case of visible defects or losses. 

5. Risk Liability 

Delivery is made at the customer’s own risk. As soon as the 

goods leave our plant the risk of accidental loss, destruction or 

deterioration passes to the customer. 

6. Guarantee 

Our warranty for osmometers and liquid chromatography instruments 

is limited to one year, excluding glass breakage, 

damages due to stoppage and consumable materials such as 

membranes, light bulbs, columns, bushings, gaskets and valves. 

Our warranty is limited to repair or replacement at no costs except 

if we have guaranteed certain characteristics explicitly and 

in writing. Transportation costs are borne by the customer. In 

case a repair or eventual replacement is also defective the customer 

may rescind the contract or may claim a reduction in 

price. 

Warranty claims are barred if the customer denies us repair or 

replacement of the defective product within a reasonable 

period of time not exceeding three months counting from the 

date of the written complaint. 

We are not liable for defects originating after the passing of the 

risk, for defects originating in improper or careless handling of 

the goods by the customer, or for defects caused by inappropriate 

or not permitted operating supplies. 

We are liable for monetary compensation only for damages 

caused by the absence of expressly and in writing warranted 

characteristics, for damages caused by us or persons employed

by us, either intentionally or – in case of a breach of condition of 

the contract – negligently, otherwise only in case of gross negligence. 

Our liability for damages is limited to direct damages except in 

case a specific warranty was given to cover the customer also 

against indirect damages. We are not liable for advice given. 

Liability according to the stipulations of the German Law on 

Product Liability remains unaffected. 

7. Property Rights 

The ownership of the goods shall remain with us until payment 

in full for all our claims resulting from our business relation is 

received. In case of improper treatment of the goods or in case 

of default we may demand the return of the delivered goods. 

Towards merchants this demand entails resignation of the contract 

only if we declare it explicitly. 

Resalers are allowed to sell the goods to third parties in due 

course of the business. The customer herewith assigns his resale 

claims against third parties to us. 

8. Export 

Instruments and products delivered by us may not be exported 

to a country other than of the customer’s headquarters without 

our prior written permission. 

9. Place of Settlement and Court of Jurisdiction 

If the customer is a merchant the place of performance is Berlin. 

Proper venue for all claims is the competent local court at our 

principal place of business. We reserve the right to sue the 

customer at his principal place of business. 

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Federal 

Republic of Germany excluding the UN-Convention on the 

International Sale of Goods (CISG).
