has given Gstaad an injection of cool with

1960s, this dairy-turned-Michelin-starred-

transport and mountain railways, entry
to the swimming pool, climbing hall,
bowling alley and the high-rope park in
Zweisimmen, plus discounts on other
sights and activities. It’s available at the
tourist offi ce and most hotels, and can
be extended daily at a cost of Sfr12/7
per adult/child.

8 Getting There & Away
Gstaad is on the Golden Pass route between
Montreux (Sfr24, 1½ hours) and Spiez (Sfr25,
1½ hours; change at Zweisimmen). There is an
hourly service to Geneva airport (Sfr52, three
hours) via Montreux. A postal bus goes to Les
Diablerets (Sfr13.20, 50 minutes) about fi ve
times daily. N11 is the principal road connecting
Aigle and Spiez, and it passes close to Gstaad
at Saanen.
