SCRIPTURE STUDY FOR FALL 2012<br />
We will begin with Fr. Robert Barron’s enlightening study on sin<br />
and virtue! Over the course of this study, we will be taking a<br />
look at what <strong>Catholic</strong> tradition calls the Seven Deadly Sins and<br />
contrasting them with the Seven Lively Virtues.<br />
Next, Untold blessing - Three paths to Holiness, Fr. Barron’s<br />
look into the journey to sanctity. This is a look at the teaching of<br />
the <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Church</strong> concerning our call to Christ Jesus, His<br />
power to heal our lives, and His command to go out to the world.<br />
The study is a DVD series designed to increase understanding,<br />
promote reflection, and encourage practical action. You will also<br />
have the chance to dig into the <strong>Catholic</strong> tradition and grapple with<br />
Scripture and the <strong>Church</strong>’s teachings, enhancing your life as a<br />
disciple of Jesus Christ.<br />
Plus, lots of enlightening and lively discussion led by our own<br />
Monsignor Jack Costello! Grazie!!!<br />
We will meet Wednesdays from 9:00-10:30AM, September 12th<br />
through November 14th in Ursuline Hall.<br />
All are encouraged to spend meaningful time learning about our<br />
faith and a wonderful opportunity to get to know fellow<br />
parishioners.<br />

2nd Annual Bring A Buddy Drive<br />
Another success!<br />
57 parishioners were registered<br />
52 units of red cells were collected<br />
2 units of platelets were collected<br />
All those who registered received a coupon for a free appetizer<br />
at Texas Roadhouse, AND many were entered into the Bring A<br />
Buddy drawing. That drawing was held this last week; however,<br />
results were not available at the time the bulletin “went to<br />
press.”<br />
If you missed this blood drive, there’s still time to donate in the<br />
name of <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Peter</strong> Parish. Go to the “fixed site” at 9860 Watson<br />
Road (next to Sweet Tomatoes), and tell them you are donating<br />
for <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Peter</strong>. Hours for the fixed site are: Tuesday thru Thursday<br />
from 1:00PM to 7:00PM, and Friday and Saturday from<br />
7:00AM to 1:00PM. Calling ahead is advised, though you can<br />
simply “walk in.”<br />
The blood collected at this drive will be on the shelves and<br />
ready for the Labor Day weekend…right when it’s needed the<br />
most! So thanks for all who donated. You are truly life savers!<br />

We Need Your Help!<br />
Our annual golf tournament is the Athletic Association’s second<br />
largest fund-raiser and helps defray the costs for all participants in<br />
the <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Peter</strong> athletics program.<br />
Auction Items:<br />
We need items for bid for our silent auction. Popular and<br />
valuable items in the past have included golf outings at clubs/<br />
public courses, Rams/Cardinal/Blues/Mizzou tickets, concert<br />
tickets, sports memorabilia, vacation home rentals, golf<br />
equipment/apparel, restaurant gift certificates, retail gift<br />
certificates, etc. No donation is too small!<br />

We also need Hole Sponsorships. Hole sponsors will have their<br />
name prominently displayed for all participants to see. Hole<br />
sponsorships are available for $100.<br />
