200TH JUBILEE
The Sisters of Loretto celebration of the 200th Jubilee of their
founding will take place September 15, 2012 at the 4:30PM
liturgy at St. Pius V Parish, Grand and Utah Streets, St. Louis.
Archbishop Robert Carlson and Father John Vien will celebrate
with the community. Awards will be given to four women active
in area mission work. A reception will follow the liturgy. All
former students, colleagues, and friends of Loretto are most
welcome.
ROSARY FOR THE USA
In the May 18th issue of the St. Louis Review, there was an
article about a Catholic from Phoenix, Arizona who was deeply
concerned about the United States. While praying the rosary, he
realized that the 50 Hail Mary prayers could be said for our 50
States. He designated the first three decades as prayers intended
for the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches of our
government. The fourth is dedicated to state and local
government as well as police and firefighters. The fifth decade is
devoted to the U.S. military personnel.
Please join your fellow parishioners every Sunday at 4:45
(except holidays) in front of Mary’s statue to say the Rosary
for our country and our populace. The Gathering Area is
available if the weather is not favorable.

STS. TERESA & BRIDGET PANTRY
Thank you St. Peter parish for all of the food you donated to the
food pantry for August. Our donations are making a big
difference for many hungry people.
A special THANK YOU this month goes to Bill Biele and Dan
Imig for delivering all of our donations. Your help is always
appreciated.
Next delivery is SEPTEMBER 17TH. Bring your donations by
any time.
STS. TERESA AND BRIDGET FOOD PANTRY . . .
For those of you who are not aware of why and how this food
pantry collection got started please read below:
After visiting with Fr. Gary Meier, then the pastor of Sts. Teresa
& Bridget (located on Grand & N. Market, St. Louis City), he
explained how the parish and community are in great need. They
have a food pantry that serves their area, open one day a week for
3 hours. Even though another county parish supplies canned
goods once a month, the high demand keeps their shelves bare.
They have had to reduce what they're able to give to those who
come for help to a bag that holds just enough food for 2 meals.
THIS IS WHERE WE COME IN. By collecting canned goods
MONTHLY we can help make other peoples' lives better and
respond to Jesus' call to feed Him when He is hungry.
Donations are delivered on the 3rd Monday of every month.
Please bring canned food in plastic bags about 4 days prior to
the monthly delivery date (3rd Monday each month) to our
home, placing it on the front porch.
DROP OFF LOCATION ~
Candy and John Behl, 319 East Adams, Kirkwood (block and a
half east of the YMCA). Please donate cans that are no larger
than 30 ounces, anything larger is difficult to carry for all of us.
ST. PATRICK CENTER FOR THE HOMELESS
Please keep this important ministry in mind on your next
shopping trip. Breakfast bars, granola type bars, chips, cookies,
water, and soda are some of the suggested donations. The Health
Department requires that all food items come prepackaged.
Donations are accepted everyday. Please note the new drop off
location: 450 Burns Avenue, Kirkwood. A green tub will be
located on our front porch the first week of the month and will be
placed on the side of our house the rest of the month. Call

supporting this ministry!
KIRK CARE NEEDS FOOD DELIVERERS
If you have a couple of hours a week during the day to gather
food from the pantry and deliver to a couple of families, Kirk
Care could use your help. All food deliveries are within the
Kirkwood R-7 school district. Food deliveries have doubled over
the last year to over 70 per month. Please consider helping us
help families in need of food by calling Martha Aschbacher at
