historian and CGPS parent, Barnet Schecter. After the tour, he will personally inscribe three
of his books for you to keep. Barnet will lead the tour using a map George Washington owned,
revealing the city he considered the key to victory in the American Revolution, and the nation’s
first capital under the Constitution. Or choose a tour of Civil War New York, focusing on the
draft riots of 1863.
An independent historian, Barnet lectures all over the country and his work has been covered
by the national media. He leads these tours for the New York Historical Society, where they
sell out weeks in advance. The books you will receive include: 1.) George Washington’s
America: A Biography Through His Maps; 2.) The Battle for New York: The City at the Heart
