1105 History Buff’s Delight
Up to 30 history buffs will delight in a walking tour of Lower Manhattan guided by acclaimed
historian and CGPS parent, Barnet Schecter. After the tour, he will personally inscribe three
draft riots of 1863.
An independent historian, Barnet lectures all over the country and his work has been covered
by the national media. He leads these tours for the New York Historical Society, where they
sell out weeks in advance. The books you will receive include: 1.) George Washington’s
America: A Biography Through His Maps; 2.) The Battle for New York: The City at the Heart
of the American Revolution; and 3.) The Devil’s Own Work: The Civil War Draft Riots and the
Fight to Reconstruct America. For up to 30 participants. Mutually agreeable date and time.
