5. On the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, the highest bidder shall be deemed to have
purchased the offered lot subject to all of the conditions set forth herein and thereupon
(a) assumes the risk and responsibility thereof (including without limitation damage to
frames or glass covering the prints), (b) will sign a confirmation of purchase thereof
and (c) will pay the full purchase price therefore or such part as CGPS may require.
All property shall be removed from CGPS’ premises by the purchaser no later than
seven days following its sale. If the foregoing conditions and other applicable conditions
are not complied with, in addition to other remedies available to CGPS by law, including,
without limitation, the right to hold the purchaser liable for the bid price, the Charity, at
their option, may either (a) cancel the sale, or (b) resell the property on three days notice
to the purchaser and for the account and risk of the purchaser, either publicly or privately,
and in such event the purchaser shall be liable for payment of any deficiency, all other
charges due hereunder and incidental damages.
6. Any checks should be payable to Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School.
7. (a) In the case of order bids or bids transmitted by telephone, CGPS is not responsible for
any errors or omissions in connection such bids.
(b) Some lots are offered for sale subject to a reserve, which is the confidential minimum
price below which such lot will not be sold. An assigned party may implement such
reserve by bidding up to the reserve on behalf of CGPS.
8. Unless otherwise stated in auction catalogue or on gift certificate, all goods, services or
certificates expire on March 5, 2013. Dates and times of redemption are by mutual
agreement except where specifically noted. Restaurants, unless noted, do not include
liquor, tax or tips. Reservations are always advisable. Airline miles are non-transferable
and may not be redeemed for cash.
Silent Auction
To bid in the silent auction, please write your paddle number only next to the amount
you wish to bid. Please write legibly. Do not write your name. The paddle number next
to the highest bid amount at the end of the silent auction will be declared the winner of
that item. The winning bid will be circled by CGPS Development Office staff at the time
of the closing.
Payment
Winning bidders may pay for and claim their item(s) by check, cash, or credit card
(Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at CGPS after
3:00 p.m. Invoices will not be available until 3:00 p.m. and merchandise will not be
distributed until that time.
