Governor Jim Gibbons, the <strong>Nevada</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and the School of the <strong>Arts</strong> of the<br />
University of <strong>Nevada</strong>, Reno welcome you to the <strong>27th</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Governor's</strong> <strong>Arts</strong><br />
<strong>Award</strong>s. Inaugurated in 1979 as the Decade <strong>Award</strong>s, the <strong>Governor's</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> <strong>Award</strong>s<br />
became an annual event the following year. Through this program, the <strong>Nevada</strong><br />
<strong>Arts</strong> <strong>Council</strong> and the Office of the Governor recognize outstanding and enduring<br />
contributions to <strong>Nevada</strong> through artistic achievement and service to the arts.
