which remain current, include:<br />

-Reduce point and nonpoint source loadings to attain nutrient<br />

and dissolved oxygen concentrations necessary to support <strong>the</strong><br />

living resources of <strong>the</strong> Bay.<br />

-Reduce or control point and nonpoint sources of toxic<br />

materials to attain or maintain levels of toxicants not<br />

harmful to humans or <strong>the</strong> living resources of <strong>the</strong> Bay.<br />

-Provide for <strong>the</strong> restoration and protection of living<br />

resources, <strong>the</strong>ir habitats, and <strong>the</strong>ir ecological relationships.<br />

-Develop and manage related environmental programs with a<br />

concern for <strong>the</strong>ir impact on <strong>the</strong> Bay.<br />

-Support and enhance a cooperative approach toward Bay<br />

management at all levels of government.<br />

The success of programs implemented under <strong>the</strong> Restoration and<br />

Protection Plan and information collected in <strong>the</strong> course of<br />

implementing <strong>the</strong>m is providing managers with insights that help<br />

<strong>the</strong>m to refine <strong>the</strong> goals of <strong>the</strong> program and plan for future<br />

pollution control strategies.<br />
