This latter follows a straight line on the surface of the area of the panel while following the irregularities of machined surface. The displacements are transmitted to a sensor and the variations detected by the stylus (depressions and peaks) are transcribed, enlarged on a graph. Table XY represents two displacements : one, in the direction of the statement of the profile and the other in a direction perpendicular to the first. The analysis of a profile raises indeed, by its very principle, a certain number of question : is this profile characteristic to the whole of surface ? 2.4.2 Material of measurement The installation of the slotted measuring section of surface quality is as follows : - A microcomputer - A table with cross movements XY - A roughometer perthometer PRK - Electronics of order - Support of table and roughometer The displacements of the feeler whose exploring needle follows a profile to be studied, produce variations of tension being able to be simplified and recorded. The choice of the directions of measurement is dominating and the results which stem from the study of the profiles can give only one partial vision of the real state of the surface. 3. RESULTS The results obtained, were sufficiently significant so that this type of study could be applied all the panels. Thanks to a software of statistics treatment of data " statitcf ", we sought the existing correlations between the cutting pressures, surface qualities and the variables of action : parameters of cut and density. We present hereafter the statement of the various curves whose comment will be developed a little further. Figure 3: influence Em on the cutting pressure and the average arithmetic variation. 9
