Application checklist
1 . Complete one application form to apply to SIBT, Macquarie University,
CME or Navitas English (if required) .
2 . Include certified * copies of all academic qualifications (school, college, university) .
3 . Include certified * copy of English language proficiency .
4 . Include certified * translation of any documents that are not in English .
5 . If you have changed your name official documents must be included .
Refund policy for overseas students
* A certified copy is a photocopy signed by an authorised officer to
acknowledge that it matches the original document exactly .
Authorised officers are:
• The SIBT office in Sydney
• An authorised SIBT representative (please visit: www .sibt .nsw .edu .au)
• The institution that issued the documents
• A Justice of the Peace or Public Notary
• An Australian Embassy, Consulate or Education Centre .
1. Fees
1 .1 . Once an applicant accepts a place offered by SIBT
a binding contract is created between the student
and SIBT . The contract is governed by the laws of
the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of
New South Wales .
1 .2 . Overseas students will not be permitted to
commence or continue their course until all
outstanding fees or charges are paid .
1 .3 . Provision has been made to safeguard payments
made in advance by students . All course fees will be
deposited into the SIBT Student Fees Account .
When the student commences study, SIBT will draw
down these funds from the Student Fees Account .
1 .4 . Fees are correct as at the time of printing .
The Institute reserves the right to vary its fees at
any time .
1 .5 . Where a student studies less than a full semester
load (four units), the student will be charged the
current per unit fee for each unit undertaken .
1 .6 . A student who obtained permanent resident status
after the census date in the relevant study period,
will be considered an international student for fee
calculation purposes and will be liable to pay the
tuition fees applying to international students for
that study period . From the following study period
onwards, the student will be considered a
permanent resident for fee calculation purposes .
2. Refund
2 .1 . SIBT’s current, full Refund Policy for Overseas
Students is available at: http://www .sibt .nsw .edu .

2 .2 . No refunds are given for course fees or excess
payments of fees unless the student has completed
or withdrawn from their course .
2 .3 . Late payment, cancellation and Payment Plan2
charges and are non-refundable .
3 .2 . If a student wishes to defer enrolment until a later
semester SIBT will hold the fees paid until
commencement, without penalty . Deferrals will only
be accepted until the end of week 4, except where
there is evidence of compassionate or compelling
circumstances . Students who defer and then
subsequently withdraw from the course will be
liable to the refund policy from the date of
application for the deferral . Maximum deferral is 3
semesters or 12 months, except where there is
evidence of compassionate or compelling
circumstances .
4. Unclaimed Money
4 .1 . If SIBT is unable to contact a former student to
arrange the refund of an overpayment, the funds
will be held for a maximum of six years, at which
time the credit balance greater than $100 will be
transferred to the Office of State Revenue (OSR) .
Accounts with balance less than or equal to $100
will be forfeited to SIBT . Where the Institute has
passed the funds to the Office of State Revenue
students are advised to access the OSR online
search functionality from www .osr .nsw .gov .au and
make a claim to recover funds online .
5. Other Conditions
5 .1 . For the purpose of the Refund Policy for Overseas
Students, a course is defined as one semester of
study in any program of SIBT .
5 .2 . Refund of OSHC premiums can only be considered
in accordance with the refund policy of Worldcare .

5 .3 . If part of a packaged program3 is provided by an
external party the refunds relating to that part of a
program will not be covered by this policy .
5 .4 . This agreement, and the availability of complaints
and appeals processes, does not remove the right
of the student to take action under Australia’s
consumer protection laws .
Declaration
I declare that the information I have supplied on this form
is, to the best of my understanding and belief, complete
and correct .
I have read and understood the published course
information in the brochure or website and I have
sufficient information about SIBT to enrol . I give
permission for SIBT to obtain official records from any
educational institution attended by me and from
Macquarie University following my studies at SIBT .
I authorise SIBT to provide any relevant personal
information to Macquarie University and Navitas Ltd to
facilitate the issue of a student ID card and the use of
Macquarie University and Navitas Ltd library resources . I
authorise both bodies to retain my photo image for
identification purposes . I also authorise SIBT to supply my
contact details and any relevant official records to
educational institutions to which I am eligible to
gain admission .
I authorise SIBT to provide my personal information,
including my contact details, course enrolment details
and (if applicable) the circumstances of any suspected
breach of student visa conditions, to the following bodies:
the Australian Government’s designated authorities; the
Tuition Assurance Scheme; the ESOS Assurance Fund
Manager, and to third party service providers (such as
electronic storage providers and organisations which may
assist in the processing and finalisation of my
application) . In other instances information collected on
this form and during my enrolment can be disclosed
without my consent where authorised or required by law .
I accept liability for payment of all fees as explained in
this brochure or website and I agree to abide by the
refund policy as specified . I also understand that extra
fees may rise . I agree to abide by the SIBT academic rules
and policies as published on the website and portal . I
have also read the section relating to cost of living in
Australia and I confirm that I am able to meet
these costs .
2 .4 . All requests for refunds of fees must be made in
writing using the Student Request for a Refund Form
which may be obtained from SIBT’s office . The form
must be signed by the student, or in the event that
the student does not have the capacity to do so, by
the student’s parent or legal guardian . The
cancellation fee will be calculated as shown in Table
1 .0 below .
2 .5 . All fees paid including any course fees collected by
education agents on behalf of SIBT, except the

I understand that it is my responsibility to maintain my
Overseas Health Cover current . I also understand that if I
am not enrolled at SIBT my OSHC membership
automatically expires (overseas students only) .

2 .6 . SIBT reserves the right not to offer a course

2 .8 . All refunds under SIBT’s Refund Policy and

be offered a refund of all the course money you
