English language preparation
SIBT provides a range of study options to suit student’s individual English language needs . SIBT will
advise individual students on the most appropriate study option based on previous English results
and Australian Government requirements .
Mixed English Option
(for Certificate IV in University
Foundation Studies students only)
This program is designed for students
who have an equivalent IELTS score of
5 .0 . It allows students to improve their
English language ability while studying
select academic units (in Certificate IV
in University Foundation Studies only) at
SIBT . During the first semester students
study an academic English support unit
and two Certificate IV units . Additional
language support (4 hours per week)
continues to be provided for students
during the second and third semesters .

Students who require full-time English
study prior to commencing their studies
at SIBT have the following options:

Learn English at Macquarie
City Campus
Navitas English (formerly ACL + ACE)
is part of the Navitas Group, Australia’s
largest provider of English language
training . It offers high quality intensive
academic English programs which enable
direct entry to SIBT at both Macquarie
City Campus and Macquarie University .
