This media guide was prepared to<br />
assist the news media in covering Grand<br />
Valley State during the 2007 football<br />
season.<br />
GENERAL SERVICES<br />
Your hosts at Lubbers Stadium and<br />
for all Grand Valley State athletic events<br />
are Tim Nott, sports information director,<br />
and Adrienne Yoches, assistant sports<br />
information director. Depth charts, rosters,<br />
souvenir programs and pregame<br />
notes will be available prior to each<br />
game, with a complete statistical package<br />
provided approximately 20 minutes following<br />
the contest. Information on scoring<br />
drives, records broken and updates on<br />
scores from around the nation will be distributed<br />
throughout the game.<br />
PRESS BOX<br />
Grand Valley State’s working facilities<br />
are located on the west side <strong>of</strong><br />
Lubbers Stadium at the top <strong>of</strong> the stands.<br />
The Grand Valley State press box is a<br />
working facility and cheering will not be<br />
tolerated.<br />
WORKING CREDENTIALS<br />
All requests for press credentials<br />
should be directed to the Grand Valley<br />
State sports information department in<br />
advance <strong>of</strong> the game to be covered. Press<br />
credentials will either be mailed or be<br />
held for pick-up on game day at the Will<br />
Call ticket window located at the GVSU<br />
<strong>Football</strong> Center. No one will be admitted<br />
to the press box who isn’t in an <strong>of</strong>ficial<br />
working capacity per compliance with<br />
the <strong>Football</strong> Writer’s Association <strong>of</strong><br />
America.<br />
In an effort to make things easier for<br />
members <strong>of</strong> the media covering Grand<br />
Valley State football, or Laker football<br />
fans desiring more information on the<br />
team, the sports information department<br />
has prepared the 2007 football media<br />
guide. If there is something you need<br />
which you cannot find, please let us<br />

PHOTOGRAPHERS<br />
Photography credentials are issued to<br />
media and department photographers only.<br />
Photographers must remain outside the<br />
restraining line enclosing the playing field.<br />
STADIUM PARKING<br />
Media parking is located in the lot<br />
next to the GVSU <strong>Football</strong> Center or in the<br />
Irwin lot to the east <strong>of</strong> Lubbers Stadium.<br />
Parking passes should be requested with<br />
media passes and presented to parking<br />
attendants.<br />
Tim Nott, 40, enters his 11th year as the sports information director<br />
at Grand Valley State University. Nott was named SID on July<br />
14, 1997.<br />
Nott is responsible for a wide range <strong>of</strong> duties, including production<br />
<strong>of</strong> athletic publications, media relations, home event management,<br />
statistical record keeping, web site administration and promotion<br />
<strong>of</strong> GVSU student-athletes for conference and national honors.<br />
Nott and his staff have been honored by the <strong>College</strong> Sports<br />
Information Directors <strong>of</strong> American (CoSIDA) for several <strong>of</strong> their<br />
publications. The 2006 football media guide was voted third-best in<br />
the nation, while the 2003 football media guide was voted fourth-best in the nation.<br />
Prior to his appointment at Grand Valley State, Nott spent three years as an assistant<br />
SID at Michigan Tech where his football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball publications<br />
won national awards. Nott spent one year with the University <strong>of</strong> Florida sports<br />
information department, working with the Gator football team and the men’s swimming<br />
and diving team. His 1994 men’s swimming and diving media guide was honored as the<br />
best in the nation by the CoSIDA.<br />
A native <strong>of</strong> Holt, Mich., Nott earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a<br />
minor in sports studies, from Central Michigan University in 1992. While at CMU, he<br />
worked as a student assistant under Fred Stabley, Jr. for three years. Nott is entering his<br />
sixth year on the Harlon Hill selection committee.<br />
Nott and his beautiful, understanding wife, Christy, have two daughters, Alyssa (12)<br />
and Emily (9), and a son Kyle (7).<br />

Media Information<br />
RADIO<br />
Requests for radio broadcast permission<br />
at Lubbers Stadium must be made<br />
through the sports information department.<br />
Grand Valley State provides a<br />
courtesy phone line for visiting radio stations<br />
free <strong>of</strong> charge. The courtesy line<br />
number is (616) 331-3717. Stations wishing<br />
to install an additional line may do so<br />
upon receiving broadcast permission, by<br />
calling the Grand Valley State sports<br />
information department at (616) 331-<br />
3275.<br />
PHONES/FAXING<br />
Grand Valley State has five telephone<br />
lines available for use in the press box.<br />
The Grand Valley State sports information<br />
department will compile an opponent<br />
fax or email prior to the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the<br />
game. All faxing will take place from the<br />
GVSU sports information <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />
STATISTICS<br />
The Statcrew <strong>Football</strong> in-game statistics<br />
program is used to provide a playby-play<br />
report, halftime summary and<br />
final game statistics.<br />
FOOD SERVICE<br />
The Grand Valley State sports information<br />
department will provide a meal to<br />
all working members in the press box.<br />
S<strong>of</strong>t drinks will be available throughout<br />
the game.<br />
Adrienne Yoches is entering her fifth<br />
year as assistant sports information director.<br />
Prior to being named assistant SID,<br />
Yoches served as a student assistant in the<br />
Grand Valley State sports information<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice for four years. She earned her<br />
Bachelor’s <strong>of</strong> Science degree in journalism<br />
from GVSU in 2003. Yoches is also<br />
responsible for a wide range <strong>of</strong> duties,<br />
including production <strong>of</strong> athletic publications,<br />
media relations, home event management,<br />
statistical record keeping, web<br />
site administration and promotion <strong>of</strong><br />
GVSU student-athletes for conference and<br />

Yoches, 26, who is the former<br />
Adrienne Lubeck, was married in May <strong>of</strong><br />
2006 to GVSU defensive line coach Matt<br />
Yoches.<br />
