This media guide was prepared to
assist the news media in covering Grand
Valley State during the 2007 football
season.
GENERAL SERVICES
Your hosts at Lubbers Stadium and
for all Grand Valley State athletic events
are Tim Nott, sports information director,
and Adrienne Yoches, assistant sports
information director. Depth charts, rosters,
souvenir programs and pregame
notes will be available prior to each
game, with a complete statistical package
provided approximately 20 minutes following
the contest. Information on scoring
drives, records broken and updates on
scores from around the nation will be distributed
throughout the game.
PRESS BOX
Grand Valley State’s working facilities
are located on the west side of
Lubbers Stadium at the top of the stands.
The Grand Valley State press box is a
working facility and cheering will not be
tolerated.
WORKING CREDENTIALS
All requests for press credentials
should be directed to the Grand Valley
State sports information department in
advance of the game to be covered. Press
credentials will either be mailed or be
held for pick-up on game day at the Will
Call ticket window located at the GVSU
Football Center. No one will be admitted
to the press box who isn’t in an official
working capacity per compliance with
the Football Writer’s Association of
America.
In an effort to make things easier for
members of the media covering Grand
Valley State football, or Laker football
fans desiring more information on the
team, the sports information department
has prepared the 2007 football media
guide. If there is something you need
which you cannot find, please let us

PHOTOGRAPHERS
Photography credentials are issued to
media and department photographers only.
Photographers must remain outside the
restraining line enclosing the playing field.
STADIUM PARKING
Media parking is located in the lot
next to the GVSU Football Center or in the
Irwin lot to the east of Lubbers Stadium.
Parking passes should be requested with
media passes and presented to parking
attendants.
Tim Nott, 40, enters his 11th year as the sports information director
at Grand Valley State University. Nott was named SID on July
14, 1997.
Nott is responsible for a wide range of duties, including production
of athletic publications, media relations, home event management,
statistical record keeping, web site administration and promotion
of GVSU student-athletes for conference and national honors.
Nott and his staff have been honored by the College Sports
Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) for several of their
publications. The 2006 football media guide was voted third-best in
the nation, while the 2003 football media guide was voted fourth-best in the nation.
Prior to his appointment at Grand Valley State, Nott spent three years as an assistant
SID at Michigan Tech where his football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball publications
won national awards. Nott spent one year with the University of Florida sports
information department, working with the Gator football team and the men’s swimming
and diving team. His 1994 men’s swimming and diving media guide was honored as the
best in the nation by the CoSIDA.
A native of Holt, Mich., Nott earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a
minor in sports studies, from Central Michigan University in 1992. While at CMU, he
worked as a student assistant under Fred Stabley, Jr. for three years. Nott is entering his
sixth year on the Harlon Hill selection committee.
Nott and his beautiful, understanding wife, Christy, have two daughters, Alyssa (12)
and Emily (9), and a son Kyle (7).

Media Information
RADIO
Requests for radio broadcast permission
at Lubbers Stadium must be made
through the sports information department.
Grand Valley State provides a
courtesy phone line for visiting radio stations
free of charge. The courtesy line
number is (616) 331-3717. Stations wishing
to install an additional line may do so
upon receiving broadcast permission, by
calling the Grand Valley State sports
information department at (616) 331-
3275.
PHONES/FAXING
Grand Valley State has five telephone
lines available for use in the press box.
The Grand Valley State sports information
department will compile an opponent
fax or email prior to the conclusion of the
game. All faxing will take place from the
GVSU sports information office.
STATISTICS
The Statcrew Football in-game statistics
program is used to provide a playby-play
report, halftime summary and
final game statistics.
FOOD SERVICE
The Grand Valley State sports information
department will provide a meal to
all working members in the press box.
Soft drinks will be available throughout
the game.
Adrienne Yoches is entering her fifth
year as assistant sports information director.
Prior to being named assistant SID,
Yoches served as a student assistant in the
Grand Valley State sports information
office for four years. She earned her
Bachelor’s of Science degree in journalism
from GVSU in 2003. Yoches is also
responsible for a wide range of duties,
including production of athletic publications,
media relations, home event management,
statistical record keeping, web
site administration and promotion of
GVSU student-athletes for conference and
national honors.
Yoches, 26, who is the former
Adrienne Lubeck, was married in May of
2006 to GVSU defensive line coach Matt
Yoches.
Providing further assistance in the
Grand Valley State sports information
department will be graduate assistant
Dave Tomke and student assistants Tara
Byxbe, Bethany Capra, and J.J. Sjogren.
