A total of eight Lakers set their sights on NFL dreams in 2007. Derrick Jones, Terry Mitchell, Mike McFadden, Cullen Finnerty, and Eric Fowler all participated in NFL team mini-camps in the spring. The Laker Football class of 2006 joined fellow alumni David Kircus, Keyonta Marshall, and Josh Bourke.
