Manage Your Health, Dental and Reimbursement
Accounts Online
BlueCross and BlueShield of Minnesota and Delta
Dental of Minnesota are the college’s health and
dental plans. SelectAccount is the business that
processes claims for medical and dependent care
reimbursement. Each of these entities has a user
friendly website that will allow you to track your
activity from your computer.
These sites will allow you to view your medical
and dental claims, see how much was paid on
your behalf, inform you what you may owe, and
track your deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums.
SelectAccount can show you the amount
you elected for the year, the date of each claim,
what was reimbursed to you, and your remaining
balance.
In each case, you will need to go online and set up
a username and password to protect the privacy
of your information. If you need assistance with
setting yourself up online, contact customer service
at each company. The sites are:
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT UPDATE
Greetings from the Student Employment
Office!
It has been a busy fall, and we currently
have 2,828 employment authorizations
processed.
Thank you to all of those who attended
one of the two student employment
trainings that were held on October 11th
and 12th. If you were not able to attend,
you may view the PowerPoint presentation
here.
I am happy to attend department meetings,
or meet with supervisors individually
if questions arise. I need your help
to ensure that the student employment
program is successful in every step, from
hiring students to paying them.
Thank you for your help!
Jennifer
Attention Supervisors: Don’t Forget About These Two
Important Things!
Employee Self-Service (ESS)
Now that the 2012-13 benefit plan year
is in full-swing and the annual increases
have gone into effect, we ask all supervisors
to remind their employees to monitor
the ESS site to ensure they are receiving
the proper wage and correct
number of deductions.
ESS is a wonderful resource for everyone
and we ask that you enforce its use.
Yearly Reviews
Staff supervisors—please remember our
yearly review process. It is a great opportunity
WELLNESS TIP OF
THE MONTH
Oh, My Aching Back!
Low back pain is the second
most common reason a person
seeks the care and advice of
their doctor. Low back pain is
so common that it is estimated
that 60-90% of all adults will
suffer from at least one back-
ache involving the lower back
over their lifetime and half of
these will experience multiple
episodes. To learn how to pre-
vent low back pain click here.
