PreSiDent’S MeSSage<br />
Just prior to publishing this 2011 <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> Business Directory, I was<br />
seated at a local bank talking with a fellow <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> Business Association<br />
(MCBA) member. We eventually got on the topic of this publication. She<br />
pulled the 2010 edition from the top drawer of her desk. The bent corners<br />
and wear on the cover clearly showed she had used the directory often. I<br />
hope that all of our neighbors find this book as useful. It is the intent of the<br />
Association to produce a directory that is a quick and easy reference, as well<br />
as a reminder to shop, eat and conduct business locally for the benefit of all<br />
of us who call <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> home.<br />
Along with the directory, our “shop local” campaign held during the<br />
holidays was another way that we reached out to our friends and customers<br />
in 2010 — as is our annual <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> Festival, which is scheduled for<br />
July 16 and 17 this year. Our members believe that a healthy business<br />
community is the foundation that makes our city such a great place to<br />
live. This belief is expressed in our newly defined mission statement, which<br />
reads, “The Greater <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> Business Association promotes, supports<br />
and connects people and business to create growth, prosperity and a vibrant<br />
community.”<br />
As we sent this <strong>Mill</strong> <strong>Creek</strong> Business Directory to press, I could not help but<br />
think about the tough economic news we were all facing this time last year.<br />
Now, 12 months later, when MCBA members meet for the monthly lunch<br />
or one of the many networking opportunities the Association provides,<br />
there seems to be a renewed outlook and energy about the future. It is<br />
reflected in these pages, as more businesses placed advertising and new<br />
companies were added to this year’s directory listings.<br />
We are looking forward to 2011. The MCBA will continue to focus on<br />
cultivating and supporting a strong business community: one that provides<br />
