When making recommendations to my customers, I always steer them towards papers that I feel will be appropriate for the subject matter. Many times, I do recommend rough textured, matte surface papers as they can greatly enhance images that include a lot of texture. Personally, some of my favorite “go-to” papers are Canson Montval Aquarelle 310, Canson Aquarelle 310 and Hahnemühle William Turner 310. When I show sample prints of images I’ve personally printed to my customers who are afraid to try these types of papers, they quickly change their mind, as visually, these papers can really bring an image “home,” if you choose carefully. Give some of these papers a try... You’ll be glad you did!
