SOCIAL
S.P.U.C.: The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children ask you to sign a Petition to protect Primary
School Children from being exposed to indecent, sexually explicit DVDs in the classroom. Some MPs want
to force all schools to teach sex education and to stop parents having any say over whether their children are
given sex lessons. Please help resist these changes and give young children their childhood back. The

AUTUMN FAIR - November 19 th 10am to 1pm.We need bottles, chocolates, grocery items, toys, books,
toiletries, jewellery and White Elephant items (no junk or clothes please) not forgetting the ever popular Cake
Stall. Boxes are at the back of church for your donations. Please support, and come along on the day.
CHURCHES TOGETHER Autumn Gathering at Marple Methodist Church on Thursday 17 th November
at 7.30pm. Hear what all the Churches are doing and share in worship together.
“VANISHING OF THE BEES” a film at Marple Methodist Church, arranged by MESS, on Monday
November 21 st at 7.30pm. Bees are dying in their billions yet they are vital in world food production.
CHARITY CARD SALE – at the Methodist Church, Church Lane, Saturday 12 th November 10am-12noon.
CHURCH CLEANING: New Rotas are in your pigeon holes. Please note that the church will now be
cleaned fortnightly due to shortage of volunteers. Many thanks to those who continue to serve the parish in

GROWING IN FAITH

NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS when we remember in a special way all our
deceased relatives and friends and all the dead. You can place the names of your loved ones in the basket at
the back of church. They will be taken up to the altar with the Offertory Procession at Sunday Mass. (no
donations in the basket please). If you would like Mass offered for your dead, during this month please give
your Mass Intentions to Father as soon as possible. Thank you.
ALL SAINTS: Tuesday is the Feast of All Saints and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses are at 10am
and 7.30pm.
CHOIR/MUSIC GROUP: Thanks to the New Translation of the Mass we have some beautiful new music
to learn! New members are urgently needed and will be warmly welcomed. Come and see! Practices on
Thursdays 3 rd , 10 th and 17 th November, starting at 7.30pm. and lasting for one hour.
MINISTERS OF THE WORD: Please pick up your new Rotas from the tray at the back of Church.
We need more people for the 9am Mass. If you would like to serve the parish in this way, please see Father
or Mary Abbott.

A.P.F. BOXES: Would promoters please collect monies and hand into Michael Walton before the 20 th
November. Box holders may bring boxes to church and hand to an apparitor. Please notify your promoter if you
