The Israel Programs and Resource <strong>Center</strong>, made possible through a partnership of the MAR-JCC, Greater Miami <strong>Jewish</strong><br />

Federation, and <strong>Jewish</strong> Agency for Israel, strengthens the ties that connect Miami-Dade County Jewry with the People and<br />

Culture of Israel. Under the full-time direction of a <strong>Community</strong> Shaliach (Cultural Emissary from the State of Israel), the program<br />

menu will include guest speakers and discussions; cultural arts related programs including performances, exhibitions, and film;<br />

<strong>Jewish</strong> holiday celebrations and observances; development of travel programs <strong>to</strong> Israel; and creating People <strong>to</strong> People<br />

opportunities with our community’s Parnership City of Yerucham.<br />

Contemporary Israeli film is brought <strong>to</strong> the big screen on a bi-monthly basis. Catch a glimpse in<strong>to</strong> Israeli society and<br />

culture through some of Israel’s highly acclaimed films. Films, which are English subtitled, are screened at the Frank<br />

Theaters Intracoastal. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance through the offices of the Israel Programs<br />

Department or at the door, beginning at 7:15 pm. Presented in conjunction with the Israeli House of the Consulate<br />

General of Israel<br />

Next Film: The Ballad of the Weeping Spring, Thursday, January 10, at 8 pm<br />

Meet Amram, the son of Avraham Mufredi, who turns up at the house of the legendary Persian tar (lute) player, Yosef<br />

Tawilla. Amram gives him the score of a work that his father, a member of Tawill’s ensemble and his partner, wants <strong>to</strong><br />

see performed before his impending death. Tawilla and Amram set out on a journey of discovery joined by groups<br />

of wonderful musicians. Amram will find love and Tawilla, if he succeeds; will fulfill Avraham Mufredi’s dying wish,<br />

maybe <strong>to</strong> bring succor <strong>to</strong> his <strong>to</strong>rmented soul.<br />

The <strong>Michael</strong>-<strong>Ann</strong> <strong>Russell</strong> and Posnack <strong>Jewish</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Center</strong>s again team up with other community organizations,<br />

day schools, and synagogues <strong>to</strong> celebrate Chag Ha’llanot – The New Year for Trees – at TY Park in Hollywood.<br />

Program includes ongoing and scheduled activities throughout the event including Holiday Puppet Show – Inflatables<br />

– Petting zoo – Mini Tu’B’shevat Seder – Petting Zoo – Israeli Dance – Parachute Game – Flower Pot Planting – Scouting<br />

Activities – Make Your Own Arts & Crafts – Glatt Kosher Food (for sale) – and MUCH MORE<br />

Holocaust Remembrance Seder<br />

A program designed for Hebraica’s Pre-School of Madrichim and the School of Madrichim, along with their parents<br />

and grandparents that will include texts, prayers, and ceremonial foods. This program cooincides with the annual<br />

anniversary of International Holocaust Remembrance Day,<br />
