Hebraica emphasizes the importance of promoting <strong>Jewish</strong> identity, <strong>Jewish</strong> values, a love of Israel, and the importance of family<br />
and community. Hebraica reaches out <strong>to</strong> all segments of our diverse <strong>Jewish</strong> community through ongoing programs for children,<br />
teens, and college-age young adults, holiday celebrations, family activities, and community events.<br />
maccabi tzair, miami grades K-10<br />

Maccabi Tzair Miami, a branch of Maccabi World Union, is a youth movement that engages <strong>Jewish</strong> youth in activities<br />
promoting <strong>Jewish</strong> identity, our connection <strong>to</strong> the People and Land of Israel, and <strong>Jewish</strong> socialization. Madrichim<br />
(Leaders) in our Youth Program are graduates of our School of Madrichim, who have been trained <strong>to</strong> conduct social,<br />
cultural, educational, and recreational activities with their Chanichim (group members) through varied peulot<br />
(activities). See meeting times below.<br />
•youth program (grades K-6) • Saturdays, 3-6pm<br />
Chanichim meet on a weekly basis with their peers and Madrichim, engaging in activities revolving around <strong>Jewish</strong><br />
identity, the People and Land of Israel, <strong>Jewish</strong> socialization, global awareness, mitzvah projects, field trips, a<br />
sleepover, and machanot.<br />
•teen club (grades 7 & 8) • Saturdays, 3-6pm<br />
Enjoy activities that promote <strong>Jewish</strong> life and tradition with the objective <strong>to</strong> build a circle of friends who care for their<br />
community. Includes educational field trips, mitzvah projects (community service letters), an overnight, and<br />
machanot.<br />
•pre-school of madrichim (grade 9)• Mondays, 6:30-8pm and Weekend Social Events<br />
Registration closed for current program year. One-year leadership program concentrating on social interaction<br />
and group development <strong>to</strong> lay a foundation for enrollment in next year’s School of Madrichim. Includes mitzvah<br />
projects (community service letter), field trips, machanot, <strong>Jewish</strong> identity, and survival instruction.<br />
•school of madrichim (grade 10) • Wednesdays, 6-8pm & Saturdays, 3-6pm<br />
(S.O.M. Coordina<strong>to</strong>r: David Kohn)<br />
A year-long leadership training program for high school sophomores that promotes <strong>Jewish</strong> identity and develops<br />
young <strong>Jewish</strong> leaders <strong>to</strong> work with <strong>Jewish</strong> children and teens in our community. The SOM culminates with a 4-week<br />
summer program in Israel for those who successfully fulfill the program’s requirements.<br />
