community organizations connections community organizations The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center/Sanford L. Ziff Campus is utilized by businesses and non-profit organizations and agencies serving our community. A number of them either meet regularly at the MAR-JCC and/or lease office space at our facility. Some of them are: Greater Miami Jewish Federation (North Dade/Aventura Branch) For more than 70 years, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation has been working to mobilize human and financial resources to care for those in need, strengthen Jewish life and advance the unity, values and shared purpose of the Jewish people in Miami, in Israel and in over 70 other countries worldwide. Through the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, Federation provides support to 106 constituent agencies and targeted programs in Miami-Dade County, in Israel and in Jewish communities throughout the world. In Miami, this includes the MAR-JCC and JCCs in South Dade and Miami Beach; 12 Jewish day schools; synagogue religious schools; Jewish Community Services of South Florida and more. Federation-funded programs are also at work around the globe, rescuing and resettling those in peril, helping the vulnerable, combating anti-Semitism and rebuilding Jewish life. Federation maintains an office on the MAR-JCC campus for its North Dade Branch, Women’s Philanthropy Northeast Dade, and International Department, and works with Jewish agencies, day schools and synagogues to organize programs and provide services that meet a variety of needs. Alexander Muss High School In Israel For high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors seeking to have Israel as their classroom...and receiving full high school credit from the high school they are presently attending and the opportunity to receive an additional 6 college credits. Alzheimer’s Association Offers an ealry stage support group, at the MAR-JCC, for those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s related with Dementias and for their care partners. The American Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro Provides the financial resource support for the various treatment and educational programs and services provided for over 10,000 children and young adults with various developmental disabilities at its Center in Ra’anana, Israel. Bommarito Performance Systems A performance training company specializing in the development of speed, agility, sports specific movement, power, and strength in addition to offering personalized programs to athletes, and small group training classes for youth athletes - MAR-JCC members receive a discounted rate. Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning An adult Jewish learning program offered under the auspices of the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education, which uses the MAR-JCC as one of its sites in Miami-Dade County to conduct classes during the program year. Friends of March of the Living The mission of the Friends of the March of the Living is to ensure the perpetuation of the March of the Living Program through the establishment and maintenance of an endowment fund. Golden Care Foundation An affiliate of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Golden Care is an advocacy, referral, and support program. Hillel Community Day School Utilizes the Scheck Family Gymnasium and Feldenkreis/ Hanono/Feig Athletic Field to conduct its Health & Physical Education classes. The MAR-JCC’s Scheck Family Gymnasium is the home of the Hillel Hurricanes. For information, call 305-931-2831. Jacobson Sinai Academy Utilizes MAR-JCC Health and Wellness facilities and staff for its middle school health and physical education program. For information, call 305-932-9010. Jewish Community Services of South Florida Designed to facilitate independence and assist individuals in maintaining themselves in the community. There are four service divisions including: 1. Behavioral Health Services 2. Kosher Food Services 3. Rehabilitation & Employment Services 4. Senior Adult Sessions.
